Opi's are great. Super lightweight and lock open. However, the OP didnt say if he was looking for a one handed opener or whether or not a locking mechanism is important. I would consider the importance of these features and also find out how important a pocket clip is and use that info to narrow down your choices. Opi's dont open one handed, but that crkt pazoda does it all.

You can open an Opinel one handed, I do it all the time. Pinch the blade, then push the handle open on your leg/table/whatever is handy. Catch the handle, and slide the lock into place with your thumb.

I use to be able to roll a smoke with one hand too, once upon a time.

Made in China is a deal-killer for me.

France is bad enough.

LOL.

In Australia any knife designed to be opened with one hand is a prohibited import. No assisted opening, thumb stubs, holes, or anything like that. Even a knife whose handle is heavy enough to flick open under its own weight is seized at customs. We have to be dexterous here.

Easy.

I love Opinels enthusiastically and they certainly fit most of the requirements you have. However since you'll be carrying the knife in a suit trousers pocket, I would have some concern that the little corner of blade tang that protrudes when closed might wear holes in the material pretty fast. However, you could easily find or fashion some kind of pocket slip of fabric or leather to carry it in which would mitigate that problem altogether. Also did some searching for one blade Victorinox Swiss Army knives, and the Boy Scouts Sentry model looks like it might suit your needs quite nicely as well.

Good points. I have amended the OP.

What are you looking for in the knife? In my offtime I'm a fairly confident old school carpenter and find the use of a blade absolutely essential. The one knife I use, more than any is the old Stanley 10-049. This is not a pretty knife, in fact its flat, gray, and unadorned but locking mechanism is phenomenal, the blade is excellent (and replaceable), and makes the best all around utility knife of any I've ever owned. You can usually pick on up online for around $10.
