(Slaps link to thread) You Can Fit So Much Wrong In This Journal

Funny story. My dear wife when she was a kid they had a school trip to Hershey park (i love Hershey park btw. My favorite park) and of course they went through the chocolate factory. Her whole class was whisked off to a room in there and they were given a candy bar that they were thinking of releasing and they were asking them to evaluate them. That was the Thewhatchamacallits. My LOTH was a tester for it.
Growing up Whatchamacallits, Reese cups, Twix, and, Kit Kat were my favorites. Whatchamacallits were in first place though. It is a shame that I have lost a lot of my sweet tooth for those kinds of candies. That is neat that she was a tester.

Pizza Hut (like most Brick & Mortar stores) are downsizing. Most businesses now are trying to stay afloat by maintaining
locations that actually make money. Lots of overhead in having a bunch of retail buildings but not much overhead when selling online!
I wouldn't doubt if 10 years from now they'll have one big central location (where they make the pizza) in the middle of each city where you only order online and can only opt for delivery.
Remember when each Dunkin Donuts store baked their donuts everyday?
Now they make them in one big building and deliver them to the stores!
The future is footprint reduction!!

I can see it. We have two or three small chains that still bake their donuts on location. As to Dunkin Donuts we have one about 3 miles from where I live that started being built either last year or the year before that they just stopped building. It looks like the only thing missing is the parking lot, though who knows how much is done inside. The building and the signs look brand new.

Turned 52 yesterday. Wifey and Wee Babby took me to Pizza Hut

I ate a bit of cold steak fried rice and decided I wanted a medium thin and crispy pepperoni lovers with ham added.

The three Pizza Huts here just discontinued their own driver services.. I was already delivering for them via Door Dash but now, all deliveries are 3rd party...

I started to order online from the Pizza Hut site but it was more expensive than door dash so I changed approaches. It ordered from the one eight miles from me instead of the one in front my apartment complex by Walmart. Either way huzzah pizza.

Hershey park (i love Hershey park btw. My favorite park)
So many memories and so many trips there. Family trips, School trips, dates, Christmas time, Hockey games, Concerts. I always always always leave with a big bag of kettle corn from the same shop there and eat it on the ride home. Recently I have been saving it for home as I drive now. I have family in Hershey too so that's always nice to see them. I've probably been there 2-3 times a year for the last 15 years.

Not made for these times.
My childhood Pizza Hut was demolished and replaced with a gas station. Now there is a carry out only Pizza Hut a few blocks away. It wasn't my favorite at all but there were lots of good times there.
I loved going to Round Table Pizza in Citrus Heights, CA as a kid. It's still there to this day. I wonder if I would like their pizza today? I recently turned 49, so that was back in the '80s.

I still love the thin crust, floppy pizza (what my son calls "football pizza") I used to get as a kid (in the '60s and early '70s). However, I do acknowledge being 'ruined' for pizza when, in college, we did a road trip into NYC for Lombardi's coal oven pizza, and again when I visited a Frat brother in Chicago who took me to Giordano's.

Today, we typically eat "fancy pizza" from one of several shi-shi places nearby, or New Haven style from either Salie's or Pepe's

I miss Hershey park though. We moved to NC in 2016 and it is now a bit too far of a drive. When we lived in WV we would go there a few times per year. Both to Hershey and Lancaster area. I just loved the area in general.
