Once again, a timely, comfortable, and mostly close shave was had. A few stragglers remained under the jawline, but t was still close enough for the win. Wee Babby designed, printed, and painted the winged pig amongst the shave gear.

Got my hundred pairs of sumō/shiko leg lifts in the books, but little else for intentional exercise.

Have you considered a side hustle writing cracker mottos? A man of your talents could find himself much in demand!

Thank you for your kind words, Jim! I don’t know how to monetize my outbursts, but may figure that out some day.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Palm-lathered with the soap and boar brush and tye results were just as good as face lathering, but less fun. Thankfully, the Henson mild razor roared to life and gave a shave that was comfortable, close, and timely. Great shave.

Wifey made meatballs last night. She puts a blended Parmesan in them that elevates the flavor and experience. I’m very blessed. For dessert, she made a toasted fluffer nutter we had seen on TikTok. It was good, but not as transcendent as the video suggested.

Got a hundred pair of sumō/shiko leg lifts in the books last night. Not back to idiotically swaying yet, but soon.

Happy shaves, everyone!

@Flanders ,

The R41 I got in January 2020 shaves its best at a neutral angle, so it could be possible even newer varieties have less exposure and simply trim whiskers with an energized sigil under the chrome plating.

If you’re already using “-Blackbirds -Colonial General -Tatara Nodachi -Henson Ti22 -Aylsworth Drakkant -GEM Micromatics -Schick injectors -Timeless Ti -Supply Pro,” I think it will only add more clutter and expense without much else.

I can – and will, darn it! – be wrong, but try if you need that itch scratched. (Says the guy who knows the Henson AL13+ and RazoRock Super Slant Lvl 3SB are his top doggo razors and still wants more…).
Thanks Thom, I have been thinking about this for over a year every time they become available. The confusing thing is that the Z0 is supposedly modeled on the more aggressive 2013 R41, not the self harm 2011. All reports indicate that it behaves like it yet the description clearly states zero exposure, so confusing. Maybe it is one of those weirdly over effective neutral razors and that might be interesting in itself! I did order the Shield version of the Poleax that you helped me find so what’s another 40 something bucks?!

I shaved with it last night for the first time.
It's different!
It's on the more aggressive side where the first pass isn't super smooth but the second pass was very smooth. Plenty of blade feel!
To me it shaves alot like the Alpha Outlaw (but with more blade feel) and the ATT aluminum Windsor.
It's noisy (chatter due to the lack of clamping).
That never bothers me though but I know some people take issue with that.
The head is nimble and the weight is centrally balanced with the Shield Ti handle.
Sweet spot seems to be neutral!
Shave result was good, no drama and 11 hours later my face is smooth and feels fine.
It's very good but don't think I'd use it everyday.
And I think I like their "normal" DE better than this one (by a slight margin).
Let's see what you think when you get yours!

Well... I just ordered a German razor from Ireland! :letterk1:

This is why I am not allowed to even look at razors, I am too good at finding them for sale. I paid in Euros so I have no idea what I paid in freedom bucks, but it's about 3X what the Chinese clone cost, now that long running drama is over.
(yep, I bought the GS)

I’ve tried them a couple of times Thom. I prefer grape jelly (homemade) with my peanut butter. Or even bananas. Of course that does not mean I don’t like fluffer especially just scooped out of the jar. I love marshmallow.

After a single day of palm lathering, the return to face lathering was a sensory celebration. The lather’s slickness was the same, but the application felt so good. The Henson and Gillette combo sprinted across my whiskerscape and gently left a smooth finish.

Got my hundred pairs of sumō/shiko leg lifts done during a coffee break yesterday and barely broke a sweat. Feeling it a skosh today, but otherwise okay. Now to get myself to wrap holiday presents…

Happy shaves, everyone!

Missed using my JAWS razor, so I used it. Must’ve went too shallow on my neck because efficiency lagged there a little, bt it was otherwise a zippy, comfortable shave. Boar brush doing a great job of making a great lather from the BSS#1 Unscented. Carolina Raktvål for the win!

Instead of shiko leg lifts or swaying, my “activity” for the night was petting a dog and sharing pizza with it. Wee Babby’s friend brought her dog over and Wifey and I got pizza for everyone.

Tonight’s nigh-zippy shave
Henson Al13+
Astra Superior Platinum (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”

Wondered if my last go with a Henson and an Astra was tarnished by using a rough bath soap before shaving. Maybe. Rode the cap quickly and in absolute comfort. Where I couldn’t find the correct angle or direction on some areas, I went steep instead. Boar was fun and shave was fun. Soap has been great.

Made it to the weekend. Felt like back-to-back Mondays, but I was still able to be productive. More Mondays next week.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Went fast and at a not too shallow angle to make sure I didn’t take forever or leave too many stragglers behind on my neck and jawline. Felt really smooth. Aftershave zapped me. Had weepers on my neck. Too close of a shave. Piggy brush still doing great. Soaking just the tips really does seem to keep it from eating lather and also keeps plenty of backbone in the knot.

We put our snowblower and generator in the garage. Until I bug myself to repair the broken pull cord, the snow blower is electrically started. And the generator doesn’t supply enough juice to start it. Better to know now, I suppose. We also put out the last of the decorations and it now feels like the holidays.

Yessir, Jim.

In the shave gear photo are a crocheted Cthulhu my Bride gave me and a hand-felted Appa the sky bison our Wee Babby made me. And a mass-produced unicorn nutcracker, but the other two are cherished gifts that warm my heart.

In the holidays photo, our Elves on the shelf are in a ceramic, skull-shaped planter. It’s most suitable place in our home is sadly away from the sun or else our pearl plant would be adorning it with green dreadlocks that Maxi Priest would envy.
