Single Edge Sunday - What Will You Use?

Sunday Schick shave, Dec 1st 2024

Razor : Schick E2 injector, Canadian Variant. Mfg 1930's-40-s, mid range. Excellent razor to last generations, great metal folding and accurate stamping for that time period(hard to match even today with modern technology). Weight is about 1OZ for this razor.
Blade : SChick injector (4) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : CRSalter Wild Rose, nice rose scented 6-7/10 strength with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Artic sky" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. A very luxury face feel quality + a nice handle to work the face.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian Barber Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Schick E2 injector with a SChick blade. Very nice shave this morning.

Razor : Gem Junior bar Lather catcher. Mfg 1907-11, mild to tame mid range. Great razor to use with a fresh blade + daily driver for a lot folks IMO. Blast from the past this morning, the fellows back 1900's knew how to make beautiful razors!
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Yaqi Black Pearl, very interesting type of freshness scent that the more I use it the more I enjoy it + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sarada Familia" 22mm 2band badger. Very enjoyable badger that works very well and not a lather hog.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Black Pearl + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Junior bar lather catcher with a Gem coated blade.

SE Sunday shave, December 22nd 2024

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm with Yaqi Milano 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Very affordable, recommend the chrome head it seems to glide well and I get better results.
Blade : Kai Captain mild pink (3) sharp and smooth with great longevity. Very nice blade in the 50mm range.
Soap : Razorock M.F, nice cologne scented croap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "ever helpful" 22mm 2band badger. Great brush who enjoy the scrub with a smaller handle.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock M.F splash with witch hazel+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur razor + Kai CTMP 50mm blade. Very enjoyable shave visiting my old favorite Excalibur razor.

Blade: Kai CTM (5)
Lather: Proraso (green)
Aftershave: Afta

The Hawk v3 with the A plate and the Kai Captain Titan Mild blade gives a nice shave experience. I like the slight menthol feel and clean scent of the Proraso green soap. Overall a very satisfying shave
