I'm interested in trying the Chubby, but I'm worried that it's a little too short. I'd rather it was stretched just a little, like this:

Or a Vulfix - The Grosvenor Super Badger aka my Duke 4.
I find the "Chubby" handles too short for my liking. They are fine every now and then but not for regular use.

I love my CH2 in Best but the density took a bit for me to get accustomed to. This coming from a Duke3 which along with a Commodore x3 are my faves.A Duke 3 would offer an experience close to a Chubby 1 with a longer handle, the density is similar. I have both in Manchurian and they are superb. However the Chubby 2 shown by the OP is much larger and there is no Duke with a knot which is close in size. The only Simpson brush with a similar knot size and longer handle I can think of, would be a larger Polo.
Exactly! Dear Richard, I was about to write the exact same post as yours. The only Simpson brush with a similar knot size and longer handle I can think of, would be a larger Polo.
I really like the look of the Simpson 57, but with a knot diameter of 22mm it's just a bit too small for me.Another vote for Simpsons 50 series!! Great brushes, especially the 57!!
Rudy Vey will make you anything you like with a Shavemac knot or whatever else you want.It would be really cool if there was a "Simpson custom shop" lol. We could input our own handle parameters and knot dimensions. That'd be so fun.
Lovely brush collection but it seems that the general consensus here is that RV is your guy. @Feldgrun My RV is lovely and have no issue agreeing.View attachment 2012200
But, as noted above, if you want exactly what you are asking, made to your stretched sketch above, just ask Rudy to make it for you.
In the OP's shoes I'd contact Simpson directly and ask them to have a custom-made brush using a 59 handle and a denser Chubby/Polo-like knot installed in it. It would come out beautiful!View attachment 2012200
Too bad my Chubby 2 is still on the way and I don't have a Pl10 to compare, but here are a pl8, 59, Duke 3, and Chubby 1.
You can see that the 59 is the best aesthetic match for what you are asking, and that the PL8 is seated deeper and a better functional match. It logically follows that a Pl10 with its 27mm knot is the closest thing functionally to a Chubby 2.
But, as noted above, if you want exactly what you are asking, made to your stretched sketch above, just ask Rudy to make it for you.
As other's have mentioned, a Polo would be what you are looking for. I have both a Polo 10 and 12 and they are (to me) like having a Chubby 2 and 3 on longer (and somewhat larger) handles.I'm interested in trying the Chubby, but I'm worried that it's a little too short. I'd rather it was stretched just a little, like this:

Accept no substitute, why not just reach out to Simpson and see if they would be able to customize one for you?Rudy

Here are two Simpson inspired brushes he made me:

I disagree, why go to an imitator for a brush designed and created by the original maker? Like settling for a bologna sandwich when you could have a steak? Seriously though, no one makes a "Simpson" better then Simpson.Lovely brush collection but it seems that the general consensus here is that RV is your guy. @Feldgrun My RV is lovely and have no issue agreeing.
