Shaving Oils...worth your time?

I've been wet shaving for a while and have used many pre shave products.
I haven't used any pre shave products in quite a while.

I didn't see any benefit from them..
Maybe I ought to revisit just to refresh my memory...I doubt I'll end up using after re testing these again.

Anywho have a great day, we can argue this till the cows come home but it's clearly obvious we have different opinions and your looking for an argument.
Actually, no, I'm just offering healthy criticism on your ideas, which you are obviously not used to, and chose to interpret as 'looking for an argument'. There is no such thing as a 'different opinion' in this case, there is just the matter of how things are. You write lengthy contributions with enough chemistry in there to make people believe you speak with authority on the subject, and that makes me, as a professional, nervous, especially if I see what you write and what you suggest. I am exceedingly careful about that sort of thing because chemistry in the wrong hands can cause a great deal of damage, even if the intentions were nobler than noble, and I will not avoid criticism to the point of being patronising and in extreme cases even insulting in order to drive the point home. I will apologise for losing my temper too quickly, I will however not take back one iota of the issues I raised.

Shaving oils are a waste of time and money. If you use Kyle's preshave prep you will be better results and save money. It's win, win. Good luck.

I did an aromatherapy course and came to the conclusion that EO are aload of old hoo har with unfound and unsupported "medical" claims and benifits.

as far as i am aware, please quote me if i am wrong, there is no evidence base to support its claims. Its simply people's satisfaction.

If anyone can give me a scientific justification of how black pepper oil relaxes the muscle i will eat my words.

I never took a course in EO...BUT...
Some/many /most/one works.
I am a believer in the benefits of aromatherapy.
I'm here to convert noone...
Just wanted the opposing belief heard.

I bought some bigelow pre-shave oil for three bucks at the BABW sale. Tried it once with my favorite razor, cream, blade, and brush. It was a terrible shave; one of the worst ones in a long time. It felt like my razor was having a brake lightly depressed the whole time. Maybe other products work better, but after this experience I will not buy any more.

In regards to plastic or glass the big question is what is the plastic bottle made out of. Some plastics are made to hold up just fine with essential oils and fragrance oils. Most of mine actually come in plastic and I have no problems with the EO or FO eating the plastic. Then on the other hand I needed one particular fragrance quick and the seller sent me several small 1 oz bottles to make up my larger order. And so I used a bottle that I had laying around so it would all be in one bottle. It was a PET bottle and the FO ate through that and softened it up and I was lucky I was able to pick it up before I had a mess. Now on the other hand I use an old laundry detergent bottle that is HDPE bottle to store my liquid lye in which is caustic and will eat through many other plastics. And it's just fine in that bottle to be stored. The ratio to water to lye is 1:1 in that bottle.

Interesting that the PET bottle melted on you. Most of mine are actually stored in PET plastic due to Cali earthquakes. I would have a problem with the EO or FO eating the plastic. To me, that means some of the plastic melted into the fragrance and that is something I would never use for a customer. If I receive an EO or FO in HDPE plastic, it gets immediately transferred to PET bottle. Here is a pic of the fragrance oils that I use for soapmaking. As you can see I have quite a few and they are safely stored in PET bottles.
