shave cream recommendations needed please

I'm a big Proraso fan and was considering adding a few other creams to my rotation recently. I went with a few from Taylors. They have a lot of options in terms of scents so best for you to read the reviews and decide. I went with TOBS because I wanted a 3T experience but didn't want to pay $30 for a tub. The creams I bought were $14 each and they lived up to their reputation. Quality all the way. Whip up easy with very little cream. The lather was very thick and slick. It gave an excellent shave and I highly recommend them.

thanks everyone. just ordered some JM Frasers and will probably drop by the Bodyshop and pick up some Maca Root since I can get it local. i'll also be trying the TOBS for my next purchase, that is unless my local store gets some Mama Bear in which case i'll be springing for a few pucks.

for those of you that use bodyshop's maca root, what do you think of the scent? I'm kinda put off by the reviews that have described it as 'laundry detergent' in a container. is the scent that bad? I suppose I could go to the bodyshop and give it a whiff and see for myself.

Laundry detergent is a bit overreacting, IMO, and the smell weakens once you create the lather. But it is a bit of an oddity: I'd describe it as zesty cucumber. It's not bad per sé, and yes, it is an unusual take on freshness, but it's not something you'd expect in a shaving cream either. Remember though: this is Body Shop, and the like experimenting with this sort of thing. The old cream smelt like fruity overripe banana to me, and had people equally divided on the issue whether it was a good or a bad scent... The quality of the cream is very good, though.

Best to smell for yourself, but go into the store with a neutral mindset.

what about the Palmolive shave creams? I've read mixed reviews for it. which is considered the better product? the green tube or the red tube?

I just gave mine a quick sniff - Cucumber is a possible? but it is a generic cosmetic smell to me but if my clothes smelled like it - I wouldn't complain :tongue_sm.

My top two are Trumpers Rose and Castle Forbes Limes based on fairly extensive experimentation. Still looking to expand the envelope though...

There will always be a raft of creams to try. As many as I've sampled, there are still whole brands that I've yet to check out. As time passes, I've found it tougher to order new ones over things I know are great.

I may be late but this one needs further explanation for everyone to know:

GO FOR THE GREEN!!!

The Palmolive Euro Classic is the best, no doubt about it.
Great performance and a bargain.

Definitely try the ToBs Avocado or almond. My husband and I love ToBs creams. They lather great, smell good and leave your skin very soft. Also its priced very fairly. Enjoy.

I've been trying to get a good shave out of that stuff. Compared to Speick or Proraso or Frasers, it seems to lack slickness. Nice lather and face care, but not slippery.

I like C&E shaving creams and I have one and a half tubes of Nomad. Since it is sold at its stores, if you have one near to you maybe a sales associate will give you a sample. It can be had at a really good price when there is a sale, otherwise it is expensive and I probably would not spring for it.
