What's new

Shark Week Begins August 12th!

Today, I paired it with my FaTip and lathered up some Cella for a full head/face treatment. Great shave...but the real star in all of this is the Cella. I'm not sure why I don't use it more. I'm starting to really move away from my AOS products...which surprises me.

Great minds think alike on Wednesdays .

I have been at it with a Shark three days straight with my FaTip and so far I like it a lot. As an everyday blade especially if you shave everyday I find it to be mild but very smooth. I think that is why it is performing very well on an aggressive razor. As for CELLA... Lets just say it will always be in my den :001_wub:

Shark SS on its second shave this morning loaded into a New Long Comb. Face lathered TOBS Avocado with my Grosvenor mixed badger and boar. Good lather, great shave - probably the closest of the week. I've used numerous SS blades before this week and had never been completely sold on them, but teamed with the New Long Comb the SS shaved fantastically. A splash of Old Spice Champion AS to finish off a thoroughly enjoyable shave!

I'm letting it grow for 48 hours. I want to see how the Shark does in my FaTip with some growth. As for the "other" Shark Week...it's disappointing they don't have more new shows. Most of these are re-runs...

Started Shark Week off with the SS, been using the SC (the new one I think) for about 3 days now and I think I like the SS better. The SC isn't bad, and I've only used 1 of each so haven't really given them a fair shot, but I really liked the SS.

I don't think that the SS has been shaving me as closely as a Personna Lab had been doing. This can be good or bad really. I have a close, comfortable shave daily with this. With a Shark SS, I can shave daily without problem, but the Lab pushes me toward every 36-48 hours. If I need to have a clean face on a certain day, the SS should be able to help me time my shave prior to using a Lab, or something.

Yesterday was a SS in a ball end tech. Today I think it's going to be moved to an ABC Pocket Edition.

Everyday is Shark day for me, so I'm not surprised that it's been a good week.

Shark SS, on its third shave today. Merkur Slant, Omega 31020 and MWF complete the set up.

Previous to this week I had tried several Shark SS blades and have always found that the third shave was noticeably less comfortable than the second. Two had become my limit with these but, after such a good shave with the blade yesterday and having recently revisted a few blades that I initially tried when I first began DE shaving I've found that with improved technique the blades also seemed to improve, so I decided to use the same blade again today to test its longevity. But again it was noticeably less comfortable than the second shave - the results were fine but the getting there wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. So I think two shaves is my limit with the SS.

Comparing the SS and the SC I've so far found that the SS has given me the best shave this week, but the SC has better longevity. But if I were to buy either in bulk I would say at this point it would be the Shark SS. Teamed with my NEW Long Comb yesterday it shaved fantastically and the price is such that if I only got one good shave out of each blade it wouldn't really be an issue.

Today's Shark shave was the BEST of the week, ending with a BBS that I normally don't even try for

Weber DLC W/Classic Handle, shark SC on 2nd shave and the Edwin Jagger Sandalwood soap.

Shaved three times with samples of the 100 pack of Shark blades I bought. Past experience was very good with Shark. This batch of yellow wrapper blades was not so good. The first blade I tried was a meat grinder. That was a few weeks ago. This week, I tried sample blades from other packs in the deck. Much better. They actually gave a decent shave in both my Stahly Live Blade razor, and Merkur 38C HD razor. But... Even being very careful, I had a few dried weepers apparent on my throat the following morning... With Astra SP's, I just shave away without trepidation, and end up with a near perfect, blood free, two or three pass shave every time.

If anyone who likes the new Shark blades would like to have several packs for free, PM me, send me an SASE, and I'll send you a couple packs. I'll never bother with them again, but I'd rather them go to people with compatible beards than toss them in the trash!

I shaved with the Shark SS today in my FaTip, out of the pack MikeJ and I exchanged. I found it to be very smooth, sharp and extremely like the SuperChrome. When I looked at them (not side by side) they seem identical. I can't imagine that to be the case so I'll physically inspect them later tonight...but for now, I can honestly say I like both blades equally. Great, cost effective blades!

Cool. How many do you want? I have about 95 left, and will never put one to my face again. Pretty wrapper or not, they are not for me! I call them biohazard blades, and I'm glad to be done with them.... They do look pretty though.....
