Last night’s tiny lightbulbs shave
RazoRock Hawk V3OC on PAA el Fantasma handle
Feather Pro Super (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Dinosaur G5C 28mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and some aloe 100% Gel and waterboarding
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, bloomed and bowl-lathered
Aftershave: Ulm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky and a drop of hyaluronic acid
Post-shave: dimethicone oil

My whiskers haven’t been feeling softened during my various pre-shave bouts recently except for maybe the time I kept refreshing an ARKO! lather one time. After feeling ucky, scratchiness under my aloe when I went to re-wet it, I tried washing it off and holding a cold, damp facecloth on them for a minute. After that didn’t seem to soften them, I used warm water on the facecloth and held it on my whiskers for another minute. Success! And another minute with a colder facecloth of dampness after that didn’t hurt. On to lathering.

Like @Phoenixkh , I’ve returned to scraping Canada Shaving Soap into a lathering bowl and adding a little water to make an easily-lathered cream. Worked great for me. On to the shave.

The 45g or so of the RazoRock steel head on a blastic handle felt much heavier than my Travel Raptor SE, but I went with it and a fresh Feather Pro Super and rode the cap of the razor. Slowly. So slowly… After way too long, I had comfortably achieved a mostly smooth finish with a few aggravating stragglers I had curled back so they could try irritating my skin as I slept afterwards.

Instead of giving them their chance at revenge, I tried positioning the razor a skosh less shallow. Off they flew! So the next shave might be even gooder. Wow! If only being so long winded helped soften whiskers…

Also, tiny red dot on pillow case; probably from my cheek; cemented epic fail status of shave.

Last night’s shave
RazoRock Hawk V3OC
Feather Pro Super (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Dinosaur G5C 28mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and some warm waterboarding
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, bloomed and bowl-lathered
Aftershave: Ulm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky and the styptic pencil

After the last shave, I was determined to go shallow, but not too shallow and to use more warm water in my pre-shave routine. The warm water worked. The not-too-shallow angle was too effective. Especially on the jawline….
