SE Razor Recommendations?

suppose its more that im a journey through wet shaving and i want to try most things to find what suits me,
i would love to get that schick adjustable with the dial, not sure what model it is exactly but it looks nice

I guess I get that journey thing, I did it with soaps and now I am accumulating more razors that I don't need.

The original Schick is the type M. I saw at least one on the bay but then you mentioned you were in the UK. I have the new Parker Adjustable Injector coming in the mail and it looks to be a clone of the type M. Not sure if they are available in Europe to avoid International shipping costs. It is $32, I paid a total of $38 and change shipped(within the US) and it comes with 20 blades plus I had a code for 20 more free blades. The place I ordered from does ship at a cost of $19.95 INT'L so that would put it in at $42 to the UK. Message me for the code on the extra 20 blades if you plan on ordering it from the place I did, as of Wednesday code still worked. A little searching code can be found online.

Good luck in the search for the holy grail razor.

The twig is a single blade half de razor without a pivot!
I would buy it as a secondary razor to reach spots which are difficult or as a travel razor
For me the hesitation it is a fixed handle and a short one!
You got the actual leaf razor? Not sure I'd get the twig tbh

Not bad considering it's 20 blades tso it's the same sort of style where any injector blade should work in it?

My bad math that should read $52 US dollars not $42.

And yes, any injector blade will work. As far as I know there are only a few different injector blades. Schick(often referred to as Chick for Chinese Schick), Ted Pella, Personna and now these Taconic blades, someone will chime in if there is any others out there. From my short research on the Taconic blade that comes with the Parker Injector it is possibly just Personna blades rebranded. Only blade I have used in the one injector I have is the Schick and the edge last for a quite a few shaves, I never counted years ago but used to go 2-3 months shaving a week old beard so about 12 shaves. Of course the Schick blades are not as cheap as DE blades at about $7-$8 at the local drugstore for a 7 blade pack. I see the place I ordered the Parker from gets $8 for the Taconic 20 blade pack which if they are any good that is a good deal for injector blades.

I believe there are only three modern injector blades. Chinese schicks, Japanese twin blade schicks, and Personna. Taconics and Ted Pellas are just rebranded Personna blades. I enjoy Personna blades, if you can get them for around 20 cents a blade it's a good deal. Chinese schicks usually run nearer to 80 cents a blade and twin blade Japanese schicks can easily be several dollars.

That is what I thought about the Ted Pella blades being rebranded Personna. I did a Google search for injector blades and I see Supply has a plastic dispenser with 8 blades, wonder if the are also repacked Personna. I also found a few suppliers that sell lots of a 1000 blades at around $.14 a piece. That is a lot of blades and of course you need to load them in a cartridge. I wonder if they are bulk Personna. One of them is AccuTek and the site say "precision ground for industrial use" so guessing they aren't for shaving but they sure look like a standard injector blade. Gets me thinking what industry would use such a blade.

Some replaceable blade knives use them, I know they see some use as box cutters and leather cutters. I actually don't know the story of the supply blades, I've never tried them and I haven't heard much.
I am a huge fan of Personna blades I have around 500, or about 25 years worth.

interesting point and perspective, so how would an injector blade compare to a se razor which takes snapped de blades?

because im thinking schick or pal etc has to be next on the list to try out :)
100% on this with @OhioBob .

That said, I'd opt for an AC format, rather than injector. Either will be miles ahead of DE snapped in half type of razor.

I get using a SE razor with injector blades or other stiffer blades. But why use a DE blade snapped in half? Why not just use the DE blade in a DE razor?

I've wondered that myself. Only thing I can come up with is that using half a blade allows for a smaller head, presumably better able to get into tight spaces.

Generally it’s more maneuverable. Comparatively lighter because the head is smaller. You don’t have to track use of each side of the blade. I’m not sure it’s accurate, but it seems to me that since I use mostly injector razors the muscle memory is a little bit easier to use the half blade razor rather than a double edge.

But mostly they are fun and cool.
