Scent increase with age?

As the title states, do some of you find a soaps scent increases with age? I'm finding this to be true with some of the soaps in my collection.
Not brand specific necessarily, but I do wonder if it has to do with the ingredients as they interact over time.
As one example, MacDuffs Prairie Rum Runner. I've had this soap for probably close to 1.5 years, but have not used it for probably 4 months. This morning the tobacco was much more noticeable.

I use only vintage hard soaps, some are as much as 70+ years old, and I own soaps which are 100+ years old. They are mostly triple milled with very low water content, and in my opinion the scent fades over time to a greater or lesser degree depending on how the soap is stored and if it is sealed. I have no knowledge of MacDuffs soap but if it is one of these modern so called 'croaps' then it may have been produced with a much higher water content. Is it possible that over the short term some water could evaporate making the scent appear more concentrated?
