Had to get this to remind me of The Motherland - I need a good reminder - can`t wait `til it lands.
Years ago there was a U.S. vendor who sold Russian aftershaves . I tried 8 of them . Only the lavender and the carnation were wearable for me . This was 15 years ago and they all came in heavy glass bottles .

I`m not European or American lol - I just live in England; different tastes I suppose and I adore genuine Middle Eastern and Asian attars, ouds, musks, ambers and ambergris - hard to source good ones but well worth it - IMHO

Wow...far too long ago...before the wall came down...in my early twenties...so '86 - '87.
Move to UK when I was four in '69
Got a little family but it's spread out in Moscow and St. Petersburg - I wouldn't recognise it now but would love to go go back - forever !
Also got family in China, Spain and Southern England.
I bought a Red Moscow cologne today. It sells for about 100 rubles, which is approximately equal to 1 US dollar.

For me, as for many men who were born and raised in the USSR, Red Moscow cologne is associated with the smell of a barbershop. In those days, after a haircut, the head was sprayed abundantly with this cologne. This fragrance reminds me of the past. Of course, "Red Moscow" should be used with caution, as it has a rather pungent flavor that not everyone may like.

Actually, that’s a nice phrase. I’m going to use it next time someone has diarrhoea. It’d be a much classier way to describe it.
