Didn’t you have a Rocnel Elite before, Larry? I think I recall you didn’t find it efficient and you sold it. Glad it works well for you now, though. I guess we’re always evolving the way we shave and changing our preferences as a result, even if we don’t know it.
I did, I had the '22 stainless and also the brass one.
I do find a slight difference (and for me, a minor improvement) between the 2022 and 2023 Elites, as well as the 2024 Elite Brass. If I had to rate them 1-3, for me, the 2023 would be first... 2022, second... followed up by the brass Elite... but the differences are negligible.

Thx…hope it turns out to be a good one. If I find it balance too forward, I’ll just change out the handle. I typically prefer the balance about 3/4”-1” down the handle from the head.
Awesome…fantastic looking razor. Mine is due to arrive on Monday. I don’t have any other Rocnel razors for comparison though. How does it compare to some of your other razors?
Nice review. I wasn’t aware that the Elite is so similar to the Envoy. I had one of those a few years ago and while a good shaver, it never really spoke to me. Hope this isn’t the case with the Elite.
I hear ya. I’m actually a fan of the Envoy so trying to figure out if the two are different enough to hang on to the Elite. Either way, the Elite is a lovely shaver, both aesthetically and in practice.
For me the Elite is nothing like the Envoy!
That makes me feel a bit better. Nothing wrong with the Envoy, but it just didn’t make the cut.
Closest I can come up to is Paradigm TiBack, but in Steel, or close to a Wolfman WR2 1.25 or WR1 .61. There is definitely blade feel so it has positive exposure and the gap is big enough that workable angle is easy to find. But you must be careful of over shaving, at least I need to be as a daily three pass shaver …..
