Yesterday over with mom was great. She surprised us by wanting to go to Texas Lone Star because "they have nice girly drinks." She downed a margarita on her own at 87 over lunch! Woot!! Traffic was also pretty good, taking about an hour each way.
This morning's post-workout shave (I'm back on the elliptical since a few days before Jan.01) was nice and my wife came into the bedroom as I was dressing and said "the room smells gooood!" I'll take it!!

Last night at the chess club was wonderful. After a few week's off, it was great to see all the young smiling faces once again.
This morning, though, was more than a little chilly as I went to gas up at Costco. Brrrr. But my coffee, workout, and shower'n'shave that followed afterwards made up for it.

A 7pm shave today as we were out this morning to bring a friend to the hospital for a follow-up appointment on his retina-reattachment surgery. So far, so good with the recovery. After that we went out for a Hakka lunch in Scarborough (for @Balin and @SharpieB , that's Federick's) and didn't get back from dropping him home in da'shwa until around 4pm. A little catching up on the news, some coffee, and then my workout was followed by a rewarding shower'n'shave.

Pulled out my Rudy Vey Shavemac from his 2015 B&B Team offering from way back when. What a nice brush this is, even almost 10 years down the road.
The shower'n'shave was a noon-ish undertaking as I was pooped after shovelling the snowfall we had overnight. Thankfully, it was not the dense packing snow type ... silver lining!! After cleaning the driveway and sidewalk, I rewarded myself with a coffee and plain bagel before heading down to the elliptical for another 35 minutes of sweaty podcast listening, which was then followed by the aforementioned whisker removal.

Ribs were a little tight all through yesterday after the snow shovelling, even making it a little uncomfortable to try to sleep, but everything seems okay this morning. To reward myself (or was that punish), I upped my elliptical time to 40 minutes and clocked in ~4500 sweaty steps/strides. A nice shower'n'shave followed, leaving me ready to face the day even if my legs now feel tight. LOL

Another nice and sweaty 40 minutes on the elliptical this morning, followed by a fresh Wilkie blade entering it's tour of duty. The shave was pretty good and I think there might only be one more left (maybe two at most) with the RazoRock American Barber soap. A few spoonfuls of aftershave left, so that works out pretty good as well.

As expected, the RazoRock American Barber delivered its last shave this morning as a nice reward for another sweaty workout. Or perhaps it was the reward for dropping off my FIT test to the lab (i.e. poop test for you young'uns) when it was -18C/0F with the wind chill at around 8:30am. Either way, it was a good shave.
The unknown vintage boar (right one on pics above) lost 2-3 hairs but performed well enough. It's quite obvious that vintage brushes had much smaller and less dense knots than we are used to today.

First shave with the RazoRock Black Bay soap and that lather has a green tint to it! Whazzupwitdat!!!! Performed well enough though, so no issues there. It's what I would call a "warm" scent, but a bay rum, it is not. Even though I have the matching aftershave, I'm sticking with the American Barber one until it is finished.
The vintage brush lost another few hairs this morning, so we will see if this continues daily or is just the vintage knot shedding the few bristles that did not age very well in the glue.
First shave with the RazoRock Black Bay soap and that lather has a green tint to it! Whazzupwitdat!!!! Performed well enough though, so no issues there.
