which one?
if you like copying @Chan Eil Whiskers and @Sethology — and it’s always a good starting point — the L1+ supposedly delivers all the comfort and efficiency expected from a slant without any of the “zOMG! It’s a slant!!” experience.
which one?
Think of a slanted overlander kinda feeling with no drag.
Just buying the plate won't put you out of home and hearth. For me the l1 was a shaving gamechanger. As gentle as the merkur 37c, as durable and well machined as the wunderbar, and as a cherry on top razorock said they are aiming to release a titanium super slant in 2024! Which would actually be an end game razor contendor. You have an expensive way with words. Thank you.
For me it wasn't dumb after I came into possession of it. The l1 feels totally differentThank you for the info on the current and future L1 plates, @Sethology
The L3SB practically needs a neutral angle, and I’ve recently been gelling with as shallow as possible. The L3SB will do that, but it feels like the whiskers on my right sideburn will grow back before I reach my left sideburn. It’s probably easy as pie and I’m just dumb and talking myself into another accessory.
I'm embarrassed not to have chimed in before now. I do not have a ready answer to the question. I also have a rather eccentric assortment of SS base plates:Gents
I'm pretty sure the question has been answered, but still...
Am I right to assume that the core difference of the base plates of one given level (say Level 2 plates) is not the efficiency but the blade feel of the base plates? So is it correct to state L2SB and L2++SB would share the same level of efficiency, but the L2++SB offered more bladefeel?
Paging the experts @Tanuki and @Old Hippie. Thanks!
So an L1++OC gap IS IN FACT less than an L2 etc.
Any handle compatibility issues? I noticed the handle has to fit inside the head base.
Hi, I'm trying to understand how this SuperSlant is classified, do you say that an L2++ is similar to a 37c?That's a question I have raised as well some time ago. In the meantime I got a L3SB which provides a very efficient and gentle enough shave on my face. Really enjoyable.
If you get along well with the G37 it will be the case with the L3SB, too.
But...
I haven't done a side by side shave with both razors but I have the strong feeling that the G37 feels a bit easier on the skin (slightly less blade feel with the G37). And the L3SB feels a tad more efficient, too. Not by much, but a bit.
If was forced to choose a SuperSlant base plate in order to replicate the G37 shaving experience I'd likely go with L2+SB or L2++ SB.
Perhaps @sakaltras has followed up with investigating the topic, since he raised a similar question on the Merkur 37c.
Or perhaps @Phoenixkh might do a side by side shave with his SuperSlant L2++SB and the Merkur 37c... Take one for the team, Kim. Go slanted!
Cheers!

No. I'm still looking for the SuperSlant equivalent of the German37.Hi, I'm trying to understand how this SuperSlant is classified, do you say that an L2++ is similar to a 37c?
Quindi mi consigliate un SS L3++?Every SS baseplate I've tried is more worry free and comfortable, with a more rigid blade feel than any of my new (now sold) 37C, my vintage 37, my German 37, or the Merkur 36 I used for decades (given to eldest son).
What I can't do is fine tune the Merkur comparison to a particular base plate. I think anything at or above my L1++OC will match or exceed Merkur slant efficiency.
For me, the only point where the Merkur slant head beats the RR SS is the lower/less bulky head profile.
Generally, I'm sure the range 2 to 2++ is a great place to shave, but the higher 'aggressions' do not scare me. I have not tried the 3++OC but my 3++SB is safe and solid. Very different from my Wunderbars. Or the Merkur Superslant.
So do you recommend an SS L3++?Quindi mi consigliate un SS L3++?
La L3 normale è morbida?
Sono per rasoi di tipo BB
