Razor TLC #3

Wow! Most people would have written that one off as done, but you saved it so it will live to shave for another 100 years.

I think it was already in the written off category, but I just couldn't let er go! I gave it my best shot, and she sure looks a lot happier now, I know I am! :thumbup1:

And I think you make that claim because you don't want to work on anyone else's razors. But make no mistake, you do work on razors. And you do damn fine work.

Yep, it's just a hobby for me, I tinker when I feel like it, no deadlines to meet, I don't want to make a business out of it.

Thank you sir!

Such a repair could never make money. The time and work you invested in bringing that dead razor back to life cannot be economically justified in today's market.
However, the true value of that razor cannot be realized by something like currency; it is now a unique and beautiful piece without equal. I hope that someday you are able to pass this along to someone (like a son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild, etc) who can appreciate the skill, care, and ideals associated with such an endeavor.
Thanks for sharing. Awesome razor.

There's no/ very little pressure when you're working on your own stuff. My fear would be screwing up someone else's property. I don't get too much upset if I mess up my own stuff.

Great job!

BTW if you're missing a bottom ball and don't have another, a 40 S&W shell casing will slide over the tube. The handle will be a little shorter, but usable. If you ever need one, I have plenty.

Exactly! I don't want to be responsible for someone's razor, especially something like a family heirloom or something rare, I just want to make my razors look and work better.

Thank you sir!

If you're missing the ball and the tube an 8mm Mauser, or any 8mm rifle cartridge for that matter, will work just fine! :thumbup1:

Thanks, but I have all sorts of brass and loaded cartridges, all the way up to 105mm Howitzer, used to have a pair of 120's but sold them. View attachment 671721
