Yes, the aperture is on top. It's small, just like the floids 400ml. but it can just let in the straw with which the atomiser can pump it up. It hasn't got an extra plastic cap as the 100ml has. Atomisers for the 100ml should be avialble but we haven't succeeded in getting them.
As you can see, the atomiser in green goes well with this bottle. The orange and blue versions go well with the Floids.

Is the opening at the top similar to the 100ml bottle where it regulates the amount of splash that comes out when you shake it on your hand? I can't think of the exact terminology and hope I am explaining myself properly. I have no intentions of using an atomiser.

The opening isn't similar. The 400ml. opening is wider, and the 400ml is completely glass, whereas the 100ml has some kind of plastic opening.

The orifice on the 400ml is perfect and only allows the right amount into your palm. It does look large but it works fine. I have both as well(ughhh....the small bottle is empty now) but dont fear. 1 of my top 3 splashes. Great stuff.
My 100ml bottle is almost out, so it's time to order. Does the apeture at the top of the 400ml snap out? Hopefully it does so I can pour some into an empty 100ml bottle for travel. Is the bigger 400ml bottle easy to grip and handle?

The opening on top of the 400 ml is all glass. The only thing to fit in would be the straw of the vaporizer, but that won't fit the smaller opening on the 100ml bottles. But pouring from one to another might cause some unneccessary loss. If you could alter the vaporizer, it might do the trick. The 400ml bottle is easy to grip but I would say too big to take it with you on trips.

Thanks Eric. Not being able to pour some into an empty 100ml bottle could be a deal breaker for me. Hmmm, maybe I'll save what's left in the 100ml bottle for travel and pick-up the monster 400ml bottle?

I received my 400ml bottle from Connaughtshaving.com today. I also ordered a 150ml tube of Proraso shaving cream. I placed the order on 12/19, shipped on 12/20 and received on 12/30. Not bad shipping time from the UK to east coast US. Anyway, the 400ml bottle is a monster and will last me a long time. Thank you Peter for the great service!
I love the Proraso AS- it has become my favorite recently. I ordered mine from WCS (small bottle as I travel often) and am considering a big bottle and some small empties to fill so I can gift them. Haven't tried the shave soap yet, is on my radar though. The feel is great and what a scent! so clean and masculine. I have several colognes that I used to wear often (Chanel Blue; Armani Code; Obsession Night) and now I am rarely reaching for them as the proraso is fine in every sense of the word.
The 400ml bottle is a great value. This is my daily, go-to aftershave splash. I am probably set for a year with this monster bottle!
I plan on getting a contraption similar to what Barbiere di Figaro suggested a few posts back and filling up an empty 100ml bottle for travel.
