Elvis was more like “just another day with pills”, right? He had pills to help boost other pills to help yet other pills against certain of his pills.Making him that much more like Elvis
I thought

Still one of the very best there ever was. I have been a fan (off the music not the pills!) since early childhood.
Aaron, I don’t blame you for wanting to avoid long term medications. I’m not a fan either. That said, I take a blood pressure medication every day and get infusions once a month or psoriatic arthritis. I’m also forced to take a pain med twice a day for my chronic back pain. It turns out it isn’t that big of a deal..
Those meds have improved my quality of life in no uncertain terms. I’m glad I’m no longer pounding down 9 Gabapetins down every day. I’ve been able to reduce that down to one, twice a day.
I hope your doctor is able to help you quickly and efficiently.
For a long time I was Had to take four of those big old Gabepentin pills a night. Now I take four big old Depakote a night a long with an antidepressant and 10 mg of Valium. Both Gabepentin and Depakote are big pills it is no fun having to take four at once.Gabapentin? I have to dose my cat with a 100mg capsule before every vet visit. Ever since they called me up on one occasion saying, "Hey, we um... we can't even get this cat out of his pet carrier. He's a bit of a terror and we'd hate for someone to get injured."
Yeah you definitely don't won't 20lbs of Chester going medieval on ya, lol.
Ask me how I know... took a long time for that fingernail to grow back.
I was on 3600mg a night for a long time. I was taking them for psych reasons. Now I am on four 500mg Depakote instead. They are both big pills and I have never liked taking them.Aaron, I don’t blame you for wanting to avoid long term medications. I’m not a fan either. I was on the big 600mg pills for a while.... but truth be told, I got better results with the 300mg capsules... They dissolve better for me.... There was no advantage to the 600s. The 300mg capsules are easy to swallow, another benefit. For a long time I was Had to take four of those big old Gabepentin pills a night. Keep in mind we were talking them for different things. I was on a high dose. I have faulty Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase genes. I have to take big doses of everything plus L-5Methelfolate supplements. Just about every drug I am on I am on the max dose. I had to look that up... I was completely ignorant to that bodily process. Sorry to read yours are defective.... That has to suck.Keep in mind we were talking them for different things. Those in the know call it by the short name MTHFR gene which sounds rather humorous if you look at it for a minute.I had to look that up... I was completely ignorant to that bodily process. Sorry to read yours are defective.... That has to suck.
Only if it is a bad one.Discovered by Samuel Jackson?
Elvis got all his drugs via legal avenues, prescribed by a Dr. Nichopolous. There were no illegal drugs in system at the time of his death. Of all the drugs in his system at death, not one was at a toxic/lethal level. It was the combination of multiple drugs that caused his death.Elvis was purely a drug addict, and many of his fans didn't even know about it, except for those in his closest circle. Elvis was literally found dead, on the thunderbox, because he died of an drug overdose. It was things like that, which caused our country to upgrade its laws, and to put a ban on heavy drugs.
Today you can't get heavy drugs legally, without a subscription from a doctor. Elvis had a good run, but like many popular rock stars known after Elvis, and even today, get hooked on drugs as well. I honestly think that the experience of touring a country, and having fans throw themselves at you, and not being able to have a moment of piece to your own, drives these people into drugs.
And that starts a snowballing effect, because as the pressures grow, that the business causes, the more drugs they take, until an overdose takes them out. I am just grateful, that we grew up as a country enough, to stop giving children heavy drugs like they used to. Yeah, can you believe that, its true! If you go back to the early 1900's, it was perfectly legal to give kids heavy drugs, there were no laws to protect kids back then.
I really think that popular artists out there, need a therapy support structure set it place, to keep them on an even keel. And if they can't handle the business that being a rockstar requires, maybe suggest that they should change their job description. With Elvis, nobody could tell him no, people didn't dare to, people were afraid to. Elvis could have lived many more years, if he didn't get hooked on drugs, its that simple. Whenever I hear about kids today getting hooked on Fetinal, I can't help but ask where the parents are?
When I was a kid, my mom and dad were old school generation, and they were all up my rear in anything I did, nothing got by them, as parents, they were on it. This is why I am glad that every school has a cop now, because I think it probably helps to keep kids more honest. But even still, it happens, cause I read the articles. Thats why I say, it can't just be the legal system that is on it, it needs to be a collaborated effort, where the parents are on it as well.
No pills!
Excellent visit with the doctor, excellent news. Apparently they aren't just automatically pushing pills based on numbers anymore. The short answer is: my stroke/heart attack risk is between 1.5% and 3%, pills aren't even considered until 7%.
This is really affirming for me because the amount I have done to take care of myself counts for something and my sky high cholesterol isn't a problem by itself. I do need to get back to doing cardio though, I am getting on it immediately.
No news on the intestinal distress, but I do have a referral to a gastroenterologist. The doctor did ask some questions to try to figure out whether more testing for parasites might be necessary, but right now I agreed that we will wait. Since I am negative for H Pylori and most other parasites don't stick around for months, they think it still might be food related. I am slowly accepting that this might be it, but that's not great news for me. I have spent the last three months trying to figure out what might be causing me trouble and haven't come up with anything definitive, I am going to have to keep trying unfortunately. It may well be dairy, I am lactose intolerant to some degree, but have tolerated it occasionally. I haven't had dairy, for the most part, this month and so far I haven't had as much trouble. Maybe that's it, maybe it's something else or maybe it's multiple things.
There was one other thing that came up on the labs, but I got a thorough explanation why it wasn't a problem so no further testing on that one. Pretty great news for me, now I can go back to doing stuff and not thinking about this!
No pills is definitely a good thing, and I know it is a weight off your shoulders. Hopefully the remaining problems get fixed as easily. No dairy sucks, but, is manageable. I got tired of milk going bad on me so I have completely switched to oat milk where possible. Cheese curds and pizza are musts for my diet so I hope that isn't a big issue. High cholesterol...No pills!

Thank you Thom. Not going to worry when the rest gets sorted since I am not in danger of dropping at any moment!Very glad the resolution you dreaded was avoided and hope the rest gets sorted soon.
Thank you buddy! Now I know that I am actually fit as a fiddle, not just passing medical exams.Hey buddy, I am just so happy to hear, that you are going to be doing great overall, from now on. That makes me happy, especially to know, that you are not going through anything that is life threatening, in regards to your heart. Which means, your health checks out, and you are fit as a fiddle to fly.
Thank you Michael. No dairy is the direction I was already headed so I will manage, with some cheats. I had pizza for dinner, I will probably regret this! It's just like giving up regular coffee, if you don't like the side effects bad enough you can quit anything. Once in awhile can be OK as long as it's not once a week even. It's still better than pills for me!No pills is definitely a good thing, and I know it is a weight off your shoulders. Hopefully the remaining problems get fixed as easily.
Thanks again Derick, I really appreciate the thought.A big sigh of relief. That’s a very good news and truly happy for you.
