Potential bad news for the fans of Old Spice from India

Menezes is about the third group that produced Old Spice for P&G in India, and it's likely that they will just shift production to another group, with the same "recipe" as was done the other two times.
I imagine it would be much easier to strike a new deal with a new group rather than trying to modify the terms of the agreement they had with Menezes.
Perhaps they tried and couldn't get the deal they wanted from Menezes.

I'm not taking any chances, Phil. The likelihood that dcobranchi can run the next batch of Indian OS through his gas chromatograph seems pretty remote to me.

My concern is that they will approach it the way they revived the brand here.. Swagger, Fiji etc. They will try to market and brand toward a younger audience. My only wish is they will take back the OS shaving products line in the Americas from Kai. It has been very dormant.

what a bummer. I guess I'll have to procure me a bottle of the Shulton recipe while the getting is good.

geeez...I just checked out desistores...8 tubes of Old Spice creams shipped now works out to about 6 bucks a (small) tube...that's a big jump in shipping costs compared to just 2-3 years ago...hate to see these creams go,I really enjoy all 3...

Wow. An iconic brand such as this is heartbreaking to see go through so many owners. A simple wish is...bring it back to the U.S. to be made. Union/ non union whatever. Start bringing back production back here please.

The price would probably triple if it were brought back here.
There's a reason stuff isn't made in the US much anymore. Our labor force is expensive.

I'd like to believe that except prices for many items tat I went shopping for are the same as they were when they were made here in the US. Look at Polo, Levi's, etc are $40-100 and made in India, China, Thialand etc. The difference is they took the profit from labor cost and kept the prices the same while firing US workers. Go figure. We made some of the best yet we wanted to compete with the lowest common denominator. China. You don't see Merceds wanting to compete against Hyundai. Bring production back and say to the world, if you don't want it, it's too xpensive go east.....and I'll end it on a good note. Apple will bring back a very small bit of production to the US. Yeaay! I'll take a pinch over nothing. Here's to the workers that get those jobs!

In India now and bought a tube of the lime. Didn't know the SC was going to be discontinued; I'll pick up whatever I can find, although pickings are slim here in Mumbai.

I just got a tube shipped from over there with three more ordered. Am I getting old stock? I like the SC, just discovered it, now upset to hear that I might not be able to enjoy for long. This sucks.

The SC (bought five more tubes today) I've picked up was manufactured as late as 06/12: are they really going to stop producing it?

I have 2 tubes of shave cream and 3 bottles of after shave.

It won't last forever but it will last long enough for me to enjoy it :001_smile

Is there really that much of a difference between the Old Spice AS that's made/available in India to the ones that are sold here in North America?

My belief is that someone will take this over again or market the same formula over there. Not too much respect for trademark in that part of the world.

check eBay. just bought 3 tubes of OS 70ml SC for $13.50 with free shipping from India. the last batch i ordered the manufacturer date was august of 2012.
