Post Your Deployed Shave Den

When I deploy I usually switch to canned goo and a Mach 3... I frequently live/ work out of a quadcon.
Me thinks quadcons were not meant to be lived out of...

No way I could revert. My face would hate me. I could do it for a few days if I had to(although, I'd stick with the 2 bladed Trac2), but not for the long haul. Really one or two passes with my DE is just as close as a mach 3, and doesn't take any longer. And using a shave stick and face lathering is almost just as fast as using a can of goo. The time difference isn't great enough to justify the switch. YMMV

So I guess you're not one of the unfortunate souls living in a tent right now. I'm in the NATO dorms, which are currently flooded, luckily I'm on the top floor.

One of these days soon, I'll take an updated picture of my den and post it. It has changed since my initial pictures.

Nope. I live in the RLBs aka a CONEX with a bed in it.

Does anyone have pics of a good field kit? By that I mean something I can carry in my ruck that wont get smashed when said ruck is tossed off a 5 ton or dropped during a road march... I dont think I will be able to carry a scuttle, obviously, probably do a small metal bowl, DE razor and blades, some AS and a tube of Proraso. Im sick of opening my pack to find everything smells like the former contents of my shaving kit. I only recently started wet shaving, so I have yet to deploy with a full den (unless you want to leave yours, Vez, and Ill RIP ).

Sorry, took it all home with me. When I went through Manas, I picked up a free travel kit from the USO. It is perfect for travel. You can eliminate the need for a bowl, by ditching the cream and using a shave stick. My 4 essentials for a light & quick travel kit are a razor, small brush, shave stick, and witch hazel. My #5 is after shave.

The little USO traval kits are awesome. I love them. I dont usually keep the items in the bag they come in, but I do use it for other things. God I love the USO!

nice pictures.. on both my deployments (KAF/AUAB) I had not yet started shaving with a DE or SE. I pretty used exclusively my Gillette Fusion and Schick Hydro 5.

I'll be sure to post some. I remember back in KAF we stayed in the tents for a few months back in 09 and those field latrines were horrid... I did not trust the water out of those bladders... would have been interesting to try and wet shave in those. Flies everywhere and extremely hot during the summer months with no A/C... not sure how much I could have relaxed in that.. it was more of a get in and go experience.
