Pipe Of The Day (POTD)

Molto Dolce this afternoon. Wish I had written a date on the tin I know it's been opened over two years. Still very moist.

Morning pre- and post-breakfast pipe: a mix of burley/cavendish Ethereal with some Stirling Flake for wake-up power, in the slim Orlik Large Chimney. I like this Ethereal stuff for its mild suggestion of "dry red wine." Fifteen minutes before breakfast, during which I allowed the pipe to cool a bit, and then another ten or so after.

Perhaps I'll dub this pipe the "Judge's Pipe," after the British "shrewd judge" in wig on the lid of the Orlik Golden Slices tin. Which blend I need to try someday.

Remember to forget me!
I have used cut down 100% cotton pipe cleaners with great success. If you buy the Churchwarden length you can make a lot of rings.

Yes, that's my usual process. I just happened to stumble across someone saying they used cotton yarn, somewhere on the internet (I forget where, or what I was actually looking for when I found it), and thought "I have some of that!".

I don't think it was quite as absorbent as a pipe cleaner, but it didn't adversely affect the smoke. I'll keep playing around with it.
