Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet NEW Formulation - Actually V.Good!!!

It will probably take some time to get more reports. The uncertainty about which version one might get will put most off especially given the cost involved. When some of the vendors confirm that they have new stock that will change.

My replacement was shipped from Penhaligons NYC wharehouse location. If anyone orders online on their official website, it will ship from there. Their office is in Northvale NJ, but the stocks seems to be in NYC.

Hey Slick,

I'd love to believe this and I'd probably splurge for it against my better judgement...just want to get a few more reviews in...no offense. Thats alot of coin to give up to a soap.

I so regret getting rid of my Tallow 5th BB...stupid...stupid...stupid. :mad2:

I really enjoy my vegetable Blenheim soap, and never understood all the flak it gets, maybe this is why. I just checked my lot number and it is also 31409. Interesting.

I bought a puck of BB back in early Nov of 09, Lot number 25809. Isn't worth spit.

The ingredient list for my 25809 is identical in order and content to what is shown for the other fellas' lot # 31409.

Hmmm...later lot implies possible mix in ingredient level...subtle change of some sort that they are not telling us etc etc.

Again...all this talk of old formulation has me salivating.

Anyone want to give up a "slightly" used puck of that Tallow 5th BB you're holding?

PM me!

I shaved with my Tallow 5th BB this morning. Not giving it up any time soon! It's nicely compimented by the DR Harris Arlington aftershave.

I just checked mine and the ingredient list is the same and presented in the same order. However, the lines, and presumably the font sizes accordingly, are different. Mine has six lines and slickter's has five. It could be that mine is only the shaving soap and doesn't have the bowl.

Don't worry Chris, it's in good hands.:lol:

I still don't get $30 for a puck of veggie soap, regardless of how good it may be.

Also, I think the Penhaligons website still has the pictures of the old bowls, which are far nicer than the new ones.

I am rationing my tallow EF and BB quite carefully, as I have no intention of purchasing the new incarnation given the price and very mixed reviews.

This is interesting reading. I was most hesitant to get excited about my new cake of Trumper Eucris when it came along. I wanted it for the scent and if it performed better than my old Trumper, then it would be a bonus. It actually performs quite well. Easily better than my old Trumper almond soap, it is a very nice shaving experience. So yes, veggie soaps can be very good indeed. I hope Penhaligon's was simply having growing pains and they have fixed the soap as best they can.

Regards, Todd

FWIW, I DO think water hardness plays a pivotal role with some soaps. Some of my veg soaps work splendidly with our mediocre water and others do not.
