I know that the Flexi and Blaze are made of brass. Both of these are very high quality in my opinion.

I wish Pearl made an unplated version of the Flexi and I'd get a Blaze and/or Hammer if they were in raw brass.
for marginally more cash you can get adhesive washers that you can stick to the bottom of the base plate and never worry about again. my personal vote.

Has a shave with Blaze with a Wizamet blade last night. A lovely shave experience and it holds heat well. Is put it on par with my copper Karve Overlander in terms of the end result. A very pleasant DFS though I did notice so razor burn afterwards which surprised me given how smooth the experience was. I’d put it in my top 5 razors with Yaqi Bohemia in the top spot closely followed by the Vikings Blade Godfather Stonehenge.

You sure they're plated rather than a nickel alloy?

You could remove nickel plating using electrolytic stripping with sulphiric acid and current.
