Palmolive Shave Cream

The message that I hearing from users is that this is a useful product even if it is only as a comparison, a benchmark, to other perhaps more expensive, products.

I enjoy it because it is a traditional product that does its job and is easy and cheap to buy for me.

My only concern is that it is an oddball product in the Palmolive product range and may need special display treatment on the supermarket shelves leading to its demise.

Here in Italy it is easily available practically everywhere, from the small shop to the large supermarket, both classic and menthol.
Excellent cream, I always have some in the den.

Also in the UK, the food supermarkets have stock, a major one is Morrisons who have the cream at £1.80 (2,20 euros and USD).

Readily available, but then again, so was Palmolive Shave Stick.

Maguiresbarhershop.co.uk is showing them in stock.
They are out of stock and have been for ages, they were discontinued in about 2020 I believe. If you find Palmolive sticks at £1.95 then my advice is to buy in bulk. For a while I even checked in small local chemist shops when I was travelling around the UK on business and there were none to be found. I finally purchased 45 Palmolive sticks on the bay in April 2024 but I have not seen them in a retail store for years. I kept about a dozen of the oldest examples, shown on the left below, and sold the rest in sets of four. In the UK they fetch £10 to £15 each depending on the number and the specific version.

Palmolive menthol. Pretty great. I got a huge amount of lather. The menthol level was not overwhelming. Maybe on the mild side. I got a chuckle over the 3.38 oz size. How do they come up with that.

No offense intended, but some of us use the metric system of weights and measures. 3.38 ounces equals 100ml.

Amazon currently have The Real Shaving Company Traditional Shave Cream for about £2.50 for 125ml including free delivery . For me personally I find it superior to Palmolive for slickness and general lathering performance, although I do prefer the scent of Palmolive.
I am a big fan of Real shaving Co cream.. it used to be Creightons who make the creams for TOBS , TH and Trumper IIRC.. The newer ones just state " Made in China" but its still a great cream .. albeit a little less slicker than before. They are currently £1.25 at a chain store in the UK called Sams 99 ( along with the facial scrub and balms)
Not a fan of the facial scrub.. but did buy 4 each of the cream and balm , So im set for a while , and when they say its double concentrated, they mean it . a tube will last a a looong time.

I got my first tube of Palmolive last week (£1.49 and states made in Italy) . and I was impressed, it doesnt dry my skin as much as Arko .. So its always nice to discover some basics that wont break the bank.
Next on my budget hit list is Erasmic and Wilkinson Sword in the bowl as well as Nuage Balm.
