I just caught up on your journal, wow.
Love and light to you and your loved ones!
Your new shave den sound alot like mine, home sweet home![]()
My shave spot is odd.
The sink is in our dorm room, but no bathroom just a sink. It sits low and is a small sink but lots of room on the counters. Not a ton of light but it is enough to shave. Limited storage sadly. I feel bad as my roommate has to watch me shave every night. The overflow drain is also broken so I have to watch the water levels. Also carpet below the sink... I try not to think about it too much.
Clearly, I should count my blessings that my sink is fully functional!![]()
I think it was a common thing back when you had to heat up water on the stove.
That looks a 1000x more tidy than my counter. I am spread all over it even around the sink. Good thing I live alone. You can tell my overall mental health from my surroundings. For context this is my sink. Not terrible but not great.
I use the boiler on the left since the tap doesn't get too hot

Holy cow, you guys have a counter? you are blessed ;-)That looks a 1000x more tidy than my counter. I am spread all over it even around the sink. Good thing I live alone. You can tell my overall mental health from my surroundings.
My counter is large enough for two sinks, but, only has one. A lot of space. I am still spread all over it. You can tell until recently I didn't have a shelf for my shave gear and software. Since I have I still haven't unpacked all my boxes or used the stuff I have unpacked.Holy cow, you guys have a counter? you are blessed ;-)
Only because it has to be...That looks a 1000x more tidy than my counter.
Actually one of the rules is we can have a soap dish (with soap in it) out on our counter so I proudly display my Captain's Choice bowl with a rubber ducky soap. That way the bowl stays safe and I am not worried about it breaking when I put it away (plus it is a pretty bowl)
I fear we're heading into python territory..." You were lucky! When I was a wee lad we used to live I a shoe box..."Holy cow, you guys have a counter? you are blessed ;-)
I have 4 Zenith boar brushes, along with the Manchurian badger.... I don't think the boars are fully broken in, even though each got at least a dozen wet/dry cycles.... I missed DecemBOAR because I got two new brushes that month: a wonderful two tone handle and ShaveMac Two-band Silvertip Rudy made for me... and a Pegasus Mistura.... I should just take them out of storage and use them for something different soon....A quick shave update. I do NOT like the lack of space and lumpy, sloping floor in our downstair bathroom (you wouldn't notice it unless you had screwed up all the tendons that support your foot, but when you have it is ALL you notice) and have decided I am going to shave in the kitchen going forwards.
Another advantage of that is I can use my actual lather bowl instead of the floral, decorative bowl that lives in the bathroom. You can see it in my pic. I have to say though, that it actually makes a really nice little lather bowl!
Otherwise, a nice shave with a Feather in the NEW. Definitely better than the Nacet. I used my Zenith boar for the first time in a while and was reminded that, although I didn't much like this brush in my face lathering days, in a bowl it works really great. I would go as far as to say if you have ever considered one and been on the fence, just do it - it's a brush that punches way above its price tag.
Our invalid is doing very well. Still bruised, but getting better every day. The recovery is happening much faster than I expected, since it is only a week since the accident.

Yeah.. the Big One has my attention too... I might not being able to fight off the urge if it comes back in stock... That is, if I hear about it being restocked... I'm sure I'll read about it here. <eg>Mine didn't really start breaking in until I started bowl lathering with it. On the face it seemed way too stiff and densely packed, but using it in a bowl is finally getting it to splay and open up nicely. I really don't need more shaving brushes, but I would like to try the larger B03 model too some time. I know a lot of folks really like their unbleached knots, but this bleached one seems just grand to me.

Keep your eyes peeled because there may be an upcoming opportunity to buy an outstanding homage brush at a reasonable price in the near future...while it will not be a big 'ole face mop, it will be a great brush in a magnificent hand turned handle...Mine didn't really start breaking in until I started bowl lathering with it.
