Hello.
Personally I use the Omega 20480, 83 and the Proraso - / Omega boars with great success :thumbup:.
All three gives / makes enough lather for three passes and massages the skin very gentle.

I've got the 20107 with almost the exact same measurements, and I love face lathering with this monster. Granted, my beard may be a little larger than most (My neck beard stops right around my ankles), but I can load enough for 3+ passes on a puck in one loading with this thing.

Macleod319: that's a great response--you have me laughing with my beard grows from my neck to around my ankles! That was killer! Omega's larger brushes perform so much better than the smaller ones, of which I've owned many. The larger knots and higher lofts have soft bristles, stiff backbone, and produce enough lather to shave 3+ passes with ease. I am looking at a 20102 to add to the 10083--Omega has two 20107 brushes, one smaller than the other but both have the same nomenclature. I love ARKO, and the 10083 is an ARKO killer an lather monster--I love it! I cannot get smaller brushes from Omega or Semogue to perform like my big-boy Omega; and the more I use it the more of a joy it is to use. Nothing builds lather for me like the larger Omegas: I had a 48 and 49, but they were a tad too large for me--but they, too, built super lathers. I face lather only, and all the larger Omegas worked from day one and improved with time.

DEGuy: get the 20102, you will love that brush! It's just perfect, soft tips and really strong backbone, and the handle is really nice too. Just give it 4-5 shaves to break-in :001_cool:

Thank you for the feedback--I am ordering it as soon as I post this reply. I like the slightly smaller size compared to the either 48, 49,or 83 that you have next to it. It's difficult for me to tell which of the three it is from the photo--these three brushes are similar in size. Nonetheless, the 20102 looks grand to me. I'm sold! For me, Omega's larger knot and longer loft brushes simply cannot be bested by other boar or badger brushes that I've used. Thank you for posting the photo--it's a deal maker.

:biggrin1::biggrin1:
at the beginning it is really stiff and quite impossible to shave with! Palm leather 2-3 times and it will soften a little.

The brush in the pic is her bigger syster, the Pro 48.

I used to have a 48--it worked really well, but just a bit large for me. However, the 83 and its soon-to-be stable-mate the 102 are good sizes for me. I'm looking forward to getting it. I usually palm lather my brushes for several lathers or more before shaving with them. Of interest about Omegas is they take little time to 'come to life' compared to the other boar brushes I've tried. 20102--come home!

The Omega 20102 just came in this afternoon. Beautiful brush; and the handle feels quite when whipping lather. I've palm lathered it thrice and have it soaking in hot water with a loft full of ARKO. I'll rinse it shortly and try a face lather when I wash this evening. The size of this brush is really nice--a bit shorter than my 10083, which I quite like. I'll have to use it for tomorrow's shave--how could I possibly resist?

I have the 48, it's a big brush but it is not floppy. It's a great brush and goes into beast mode when making lather.

I agree with you.

I've found that Omega's higher-loft brushes to be excellent lather makers; far superior shorter loft boar brushes. Lower-loft boars just don't hold sufficient lather for me and move lather around, thinning it as it's applied. Where the higher lofts build a rich lather; and one good brush loading will last me for three passes, if necessary, and pickups--I usually do a two-pass shave. Some guys love the lower-loft brushes, but I cannot get them to work like Omega's bigger boys. Between my Omega 10083 and 20102, I feel that I am pretty much, as Sinatra might sing, covering the waterfront, no pun intended. In fact, the Omegas I have build a better lather than my Jagger super badger.
