Oliworks 3 Piece Adjustable

The Filoso is an interesting blade (I read the reviews after). Probably very variable, but from my one shave, not great, not even "good," but certainly acceptable, at least for me. Also not sharp (very), but it's a DE blade that worked, so maybe the press is (somewhat) undeserved. No idea of the cost, but if it's really cheap, a not totally unacceptable weekend blade. And all my blades are one-and-done, even the Feathers. Won't be buying a tuck, and probably no second trial, but no worse than the range of Voskhods I've used, or a really bad run of Derbys. My go-to is generally Personna, but Feathers in tried and true razors that I'm confident with. It's all good in the often experimental world of DE shaving, and I suspect the design of the M3teorite contributed largely to the non-destructive shave with the dreaded Filoso! :001_tongu

I’m interested in trying this razor out and was wondering if there is anyone here that has also used the Yates ‘Merica and could compare the two. I love how the ‘Merica feels on my face along with the efficiency of the shave and I’m not sure if it is closer to the mild or the medium Meteorite plate.

First headshave with my new aluminum Oliworks M3teorite, GSB blade and mild plate. I've been using a Henson AL13 for headshaves and wanted to try this instead. It feels more like I'm riding the cap to get a close shave with the Oliworks - the Henson really only has one working angle. It will take a little getting used to the shorter handle, angles and feel of the new razor, but bottom line I like it so far.

The results are easily as good as I got with the Henson but with less buffing needed. I'll use it with this plate for the coming week - another three headshaves or so, then try the medium plate. This razor is a great buy with three plates included in the purchase price.

That is a really handsome aluminum razor. Perhaps the best looking aluminum razor I've ever seen.

I looking find that color on the company's website. Just the grey, blue, and red. How'd you score yours?

Happy shaves,

Jim

Has anyone ordered a stand with the aluminum version? If so, tell me about the stand. Is the stand aluminum? Does the stand match the color of the aluminum razor?

Or, is the stand ⬆︎the same stainless steel stand⬆︎ I purchased with my SS M3teorite and with my OliBlade adjustable?

My assumption is OliWorks makes just one stand and not different stands for the different colored razors in their now two different materials, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Just curious...

Happy shaves,

Jim

Looks really nice for an aluminum set. Enjoy the shaves mate.

I think it's the lighting/color temperature. In the hand, my razor is darker than my photo, but not as dark as the Oliworks photo.
Funny your picture makes it look like the machined stainless steel version. I was hoping it was a more charcoal grey color. I'm not sure if you have the stainless steel version, but if you do can you verify if the aluminum and SS parts are compatible? Thanks.
