Wonderful 1 pass ATG shave. Tried Denim Black today, not bad, not bad at all. The scent is a real old-school one. My dad or grandpa wore similar

Yes very much, excellent stability of the blade and excellent efficiency... great razor, in steel perhaps it is the best choice

Tatara Muramasa Wizamet Super Iridium

Another modern razor I've recently acquired. First go with this and, despite playing around with settings a little bit, have to say that I'm very impressed!

I have a bit of an issue with razors that weigh more than 100g - it just seems to me to be unnecessary and makes my getting a decent shave just that bit harder. This comes in at 105g so it just about gets a pass. It's heavy but not to the point of unwieldiness. I believe it's possible to pick up a lighter titanium version if you're prepared to re-mortgage your house or auction off your first-born child, and having used this I can actually see how that might be tempting!

I had no problem getting it to work at the negative exposure 1-2 settings but it's really at the positive 4-5 level that it really comes into it's own - very smooth, a hint of aggression and very effective at taking down everything. Very nice face feel afterwards. First class!

Pre-shave: face wash with shaving cream x2
Lather: Amazon Basics shaving cream
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Ised one of them Astra Super Platinum blades from India. Felt sharper and smoother than a 7O’Clock Permasharp from the same country at least in this razor. Didn’t overshave as much, so I’m pretty chuffed with this discovery. If only having a great-shaving razor that looks cool and finding a brushless cream that works as well or better than soaps lathered by me were enough to stop me wanting more razors and brushes…

Really like the Harris soap…become a bit of a favourite lately. 1st pass on 8 WTG, 2nd on 6 ATG. A lovely first class shave but for me the earlier 195 Adjustable is preferable…..this razor is still in the most excellent category but the 195 is just about perfect for me. Many prefer the slim it seems but I’m always drawn to the 195.
A mini marvel of shave engineering indeed.

I tried a cold water shave for the first time, due to some persistent razor burn over last couple weeks. Starting on SEs was a little rough on my old face!

Love the results this morning, even though it feels like I'm on a camping trip or something! Great feeling after the shave, and maybe a little closer.

Here's the basic routine:

• Shower = warm
• Lathermaking = lukewarm
• Preshave (Cremo), shave, rinse = cold

Shaving bliss, not a single issue on the way to a two-pass BBS shave. The Derby is performing like a champ. The brush felt wonderful and did a great job lathering. This Aristocrat performed flawlessly. Fantastic.
