1953 Y-1 President / Feather - First chance to use this since it didn't fit into OCtober. Recently had it replated and it shaves great. I expected it to be mild so I used a Feather. It was still a mild feeling razor but a close shave. Normally I avoid Feather DE blades, but it worked well in this razor.
NOCvember 2023 - No Open Combs in November. Only teeth allowed are those we see when you smile!!

Soap: Old Burying Ground
Brush: Yaqi Moka Express Badger
The Moka Express is the biggest brush in my collection. 26mm of dense Badger fur. It's almost too much. Old Burying Ground has a fun event, smelling like fresh cut grass. It's been cold in Montreal, and the soap reminds me of summer. I started the Slim on 5, then moved up to 6. The Astra was a bit of a problem for me in OCtober, and tonight was a much better experience. One very minor weeper on my neck. Overall, a good, close shave.

Red Tip, fresh Sharp Titanium, Proraso pro, Proraso, Aqua Velva.
I had a very bad first experience with this blade. But looking back maybe it was the flu that made my skin less indistructible. Trying again, and this is now an OK blade. Not exceptional, but good enough.

A really good shave.
The (new to me) Baili is obviously based on the Tech but shaves nothing like it/them. Considering it was a first shave it was excellent. The Baili blade seemed pretty fine too. They arrived in yesterday's post.
I'm impressed and will do (my currently standard) seven-shave "new razor trial." One down. The razor (from AliExpress) cost me £7.27 (about $8.86) which included shipping and the nasty UK VAT... they threw in a 5-pack of Baili Platinum+ blades (very expensive on their own) too. I'm a happy bunny.

NOCvember - Closed Comb kick off
As basic a shave as possible with a gorgeous artisan razor from the land of Homer and Sophocles. It helps that this beauty belongs to @flask28 so I can stay basic and cheap.
A penny or two of Rapira PL blade use and a dab of Proraso green, splurge on a trickle of extremely hot tap water. No brush, just rubbed in well.
There is a lot of bronze in the Athena. And plenty of intricate detailing in the machining and polishing.
The blade-bending, superbly clamped head works quite well for me, but the 95mm/3.75" of handle is too much for a man of my habits.
To go N-S on my neck I really craned to the maximum. I should have been bare-chested as well to get the collar and shirt out of the way.
Combs don't get any more closed than the Athena's.
I am thinking Kai blade and a shorter handle for my next date with this goddess.

NOCvember shave number two.
I had a very good shave this morning. Second shave as well in Nivea November and I used Nivea White Tube again and some Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm. Gillette Flat Bottom Tech and a Gillette 7 O’clock blade on its fourth shave were the tools of the day.- Thread starter

The Athena is one of the most gorgeous design I have seen lately. And it’s a great razor too in terms of results. Not just a pretty face.
Gillette 109 super adjustable, the newest razor from my collection.
I have always had a secret crush on this razor, I think it looks absolutely fantastic. Wasnt willing to spend a fortune on one, so when I saw someone ditching this for 30 euro's (plus a Tech), there was no way I was going to let this go. It needed some cleaning, but is perfectly functional.
The shave is phenomenal. It's extremely smooth, well behaved and the balance is just right. Some dont like the thin handle, but my small, girlish hands have perfect grip.
Paired with a Gillette Platinum, set to 4 for all passes, lathered with Nivea Protect and care cream and finished with Old Spice Captain. Great stuff, top notch. Love it.

I think you should try the classic Old Spice, too. The current formulation might not be the real deal old version of Old Spice (...) buuuuuuut I think if you like Captain, you might like Old Spice, too.

Nice one Shaun! I cannot see the underside of the baseplate. Do you have the Black Beauty one with the plastic baseplate or brass one? It’s an amazing razor for sure.
