My Guess... 3017

Mike M

...but this one IS cracked.
Just a quick question for all you experts on dealing with old creams. I was, rather presumptively, looking through the stash for my next 3017 project though I am not expecting to need it for some weeks yet. I came across a TOBS Sandalwood cream that my kids had been using that is now more than 4 years old. It has hardened up quite a bit and seems to be more of a croap consistency. My plan is to use it next and I was planning on using it in a similar manner to Proraso. Does anyone have any experience using a hardened cream or any suggestions (preferably from experience) on how to use it.

@EclipseRedRing has some experience with cream revitalization. Perhaps he can provide some pointers.

I had a TOBS cream (Sandalwood) that dried out like yours. I used it as a croap, worked just fine.

As others have suggested, I would use it as a croap, it will work very well that way. The exmple I had was a Yardley cream in a tube which had solidifed after more like 40 years. I do not think it is possible to reconstitute a dried out cream to its original consistency and it is not worth the effort. When I used TOBS creams I would leave the lids off between uses specifically so they would dry out and firm up a bit as I preferred them that way.
