My Guess... 3017

Interesting. It certainly didn't affect the quality of my shaves, and, in fact, may make it easier to use the last of a hard soap puck (he said wistfully, never having actually used a hard soap puck to the bitter end :wink2:).

I think I've accidentally joined your fight.

I received a puck of MWF in a ceramic bowl like 2 weeks ago from RoyalShave, and I haven't used anything else since.

It's not like I did it on purpose, it just kind of happened. Now that I'm 2 weeks into it, I'm thinking about sticking with it.

Now, that's the spirit! It may make things easier if you collect your other soaps and any creams which you may have, box them up and leave them in your safe deposit at the bank. :001_cool:

I finally finished my MWF sample.. it lasted ten shaves.

Given I shave 3x/week it's entirely possible that I last the rest of the year on samples.

Is the goal of this strategy to load the soaps a little more on the aggressive side?

I'm definitely not qualified to speak for the thread, but I'd say the goal is to use a product until it's used up; loading "a little more on the aggressive side" becomes a natural byproduct, in my case, of realizing the creams and soaps in your inventory may outlast you if you're not careful-less...

To me, I'm loading normally but using one soap/cream exclusively until its done.

i load heavy anyway, so always load it like as such.

I haven't been at the 3017 very long, but can already appreciate using a product exclusively. It allows you to really appreciate it (or hate it in some cases).

Sweet - I think i need to just get it out of my head that an "almond size" amount of product is sufficient. Based on that logic, I will never have to buy another shaving product until I retire in 30 years or so.

I've gotta stop buying and work through the backlog aggressively. I already know which creams/soaps have the scent and performance to be my go to's - so once I can work through what I have, I can trim down the inventory and start being more efficient with my usage.

I have been following this thread for a while now and really enjoyed it. I'd like to jump in and play too.

I started back in with DE a year ago, tried several samples of soaps and creams, and then went a little nuts buying product. It's amazing what you can rationalize to justify free shipping. Here is my current inventory:

Mystic Water - Adirondack Jack
Mystic Water - Marrakesh
Mystic Water - Sandalwood Rose
Mystic Water - Rosalimone
Mystic Water - Cedar and Sage
Mystic Water - Lavender Lime
Mike’s Natural – Peppermint and Rosemary
Mike’s Natural – Pine and Cedarwood
Mike’s Natural – Orange, Cedarwood and Black Pepper
Mike’s Natural – Lavandin and Eucalyptus
Mike’s Natural – Lily of the Valley
Mike’s Natural – Coconut
Mike’s Natural – Bay Rum
Queen Charlotte – Vostok (Croap)
Queen Charlotte – Rose Otto (Croap)
AOS Unscented Cream
Tabac
Cella
Mitchell’s Wool Fat
1.5 Tubes Bigelow

Everything has been used at least for a week's worth of shaves but not much more. The Mystic Water Adirondack Jack was my next up in the rotation so I will finish it first. Below are pics of my inventory and the current state of the Adirondack Jack. Wish me luck, fellas.

If used everyday, it will take you 3 years, 9 months, 27 days, 9 hours, 22 minutes and 47 seconds to finish all that product.

If you use just the Eagle G3. 4 months.

Welcome aboard. Now get to work.

still a long way to go on my GFT Coconut Cream, but a quick weigh in, shows me using approx 4g/shave....which puts a full tub around 50 shaves, give or take a few

normal amount being used, scoop and then bowl lather. today was a face lather, as will the rest of the week.

Thanks for the subtle reminder to get the Eagle out for tomorrow morning, Bob!

I went to push my puck of Tabac down in the bowl and underneath the seemingly hard surface, sat a buch of broken up Tabac soap goop. I think I have been soaking my puck for too long every morning and did not give the soap enough time to dry down since I have used it every day. Consequently the underlying soap broke down and turned into watery goop. Since I couldn't shave with Tabac this morning I opted for my Proraso tub. I'm thinking my puck needs a good 24-48 hours to re-solidify before I use it again. Monday I will be shaving with Proraso again (trying to keep with the program) while the soap hardens back up. I'll post a picture later.

I keep expecting to break through to the bottom of the Bleinheim Bouquet at any moment but it still is going and yielding great shaves.
