Has anyone else heard about MWF is closing? Saw a post elsewhere and no response on MWF website. A sad day…..
A sad day…..
I hope King Harry purchases the Company & saves it. The non Tallow version is great!
I feel like we might need to do a wellness check on some of the gents from this thread...
Mitchells Wool Fat Shaving Soap is no longer Tallow based
RIP Tallow MWF My favourite tallow based shaving soap, which was cheap and easy to find in the UK is now reformulated into a palm oil based formulation.www.badgerandblade.com
If anyone is concerned, Amazon US has the Kent SB2 shave soap refills for about $8. I'm pretty sure those are/were still manufactured for Kent by MWF.
Yes, in addition to the great lather from my tallow pucks that unique scent is one of my favorite elements of a MWF shave.Sad day indeed. Well, we won't have the Fat to kick around any more here in the forums.
It was somewhat a rite of passage when a user was finally able to lather up the old tallow MWF.
It will be missed by many ... I loved that clean freshly-washed linens in the breeze scent.
The pictures usually don't get updated. What's important is the description, which they have updated. It's clearly the new, tallow-free formulation being sold.Ok I found the product listing on Amazon for the Kent pucks. In the images that are included it does list Sodium Tallowate at the top of the list:

But then there's a couple places in the actual item description where it says it is Tallowate Free:

So I'm not sure what to think, but if one wanted to try it out it does have free returns with Prime if you were to get one and see no tallow on the ingredients label.
Yeah that's been my experience as well, just realized that I had meant to say something in my post about the stock photos...The pictures usually don't get updated. What's important is the description, which they have updated. It's clearly the new, tallow-free formulation being sold.
