Finals completed, hooray! Decided not to check a bag so back to VDH blades at home but I have everything else pretty much.
Martin de Candre Original is great, but, It is a shame I didn't send any Vetyver as that is my favorite from that brand. As far as after shaves go, Saponoficio Varesino Desert Vertiver is pretty great. Barrister and Mann Latha soap hasn't been made for several years, but, was pretty nice. I am pretty sure I see Fine Lavender Pour Homme from Fine in there which is also not made anymore. The scent is based on Czech and Speake Oxford and Cambridge is still available but is very expensive and while I love it, I don't recommend it do to it's price point unless you love it like I do. There are some great ones in there, but, these are the ones that really stand out to me.Mail call! Came home to 2 wonderful packages full of shave goodies. One from @tehnothing and the other from a PIF. If you recognize any soaps here that you are fond of please let me know! There’s so many aftershaves I’m excited to try, tonight will be Captains Choice Lime.

Where might I put that in the forum. You might want to consider making it into a separate thread next to your journal.
Wow. Quite a selection! The only two of those soaps I have are the MdC Fougere and Original, both of which I love. The MdC Fougere seems to me like a classic, quintessential fougere. Would love to hear your impressions of the Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet!60+ aftershaves and 22 soap’s to try just from one box. I don’t think my three weeks of break will be enough time . I need to devise a plan to review them. I’m thinking of using the same soap (my cella puck) when reviewing aftershaves and the same aftershave (Nivea) when reviewing soaps. This will genuinely take months as I have another box of samples and such plus Christmas. I have probably 3-4 months of just aftershave and soaps testing waiting for me, plus maybe even more razors and blades to try after the holidays. I have been sorting and sniffing for the last hour and making sure the ingredients are good. I have such a wide spectrum of products from some of the biggest wet shave companies to try. If anyone has any advice on how to review or test please let me know before I dive off the deep end testing. Have a great Saturday everyone!

I am considering an MDC soap in 2025
In the shaving soap subforum - I think that would be most fitting.Where might I put that in the forum.

I thought about that, it would help keep track of things I like about each. Would probably do different tables for soap and aftershave. Thank you for the idea!Keep notes. Make a spreadsheet!

Agrumes is not my favorite, but, is a hit with a lot of guys that dig citrus based scents.I’m tempted to use the Agrum today… it smelled really good
Yesit okay to put that back into the soap container?
Today’s shave 12/15/24:
Pre-Shave: Hot water splash
Soap: Wholly Kaw Fougère Bouquet
Brush: Omega 48 Boar
Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Van Der Hagen
After-Shave: Stirling Soap Co. Executive Man
Song of the Shave: One Beer by MF Doom
Rating: 8 CCS
This soap was tricky to get a lather out of, but with some patience, and a second attempt, I got going well. Shave was okay today, not as good as yesterday with a few weepers on my neck. I enjoyed the scent of both the soap and aftershave. The executive man smelled really good, like Creed Aventus. Soap didnt really give me much glide… maybe I didn’t use enough soap but my brush seemed pretty loaded and it was definitely hydrated. The MdC just gave a better glide. Still not bad would use again! Time to watch some football, I’m frying up some hand cut french fries and chicken wings today since I’m home. Go Ravens!

Congratulations on your soap inventory. Since you are now a soap Baron. I would suggest you use soap with all abandon. Load your brush until it cannot hold any more lather. That should always be your starting point. You will experience better lather performance with a totally loaded brush.Soap didnt really give me much glide… maybe I didn’t use enough soap but my brush seemed pretty loaded and it was definitely hydrated
