Man in a Bottle.

Mandom is my go to when I want to uppercut everyone who walks within a five foot radius of me with a callous fist full of 1000 menfolk BUT I would like to try this.

Never tried Mandom. I have have to get a sample and see if I like it. I bet if you mix the two, Chuck Norris would appear.

I have frequently not got this for no good reason, next order, its coming in. I only see this being the right decision!

I'm sold. Just ordered a bottle from Appleton along with a bunch of masters stuff. I hate you all the way you make me spend my money on things i don't need :p ;) I also wen tto old time pottery and got a few stoppered glass 4oz bottles to decant down into. Those masters bottles are pretty big @ 15oz or so.

I'll have to order some...I actually laughed reading this; and love leather and tobacco, I've been looking for a L/T scent for winter...I might have gotten lucky.

I am a Pinaud fan and regular user of Clubman, Lilac Veg and VI Bay Rum. I haven't tried Special Reserve but am curious. From some descriptions I surmise it has some leather and tobacco notes. True? If so, that may pair very well with Tabac! What say ye?

I wouldn't describe any leather or tobacco notes to be honest. It's very bright and almost citrusy, with a sort of baby powder scent underneath. I can't say it's an earthy, musky scent, if that's what you're looking for.

It is very interesting to read reviews and scent descriptions. So much variation. I guess olfactory sense is very individual. These are the terms most frequently used to describe SR... spicy, musky, woodsy, leathery, smoky, vanilla, and powdery. Less descriptive terms are dark, manly, masculine, barbershop. I think I have to try it anyway.

So true. I get leather and smoke. Others claim citrusy. For me it tops 'citrusy' like English Leather. Middles leather and tobacco. Bases powdery spice and smoke.

I don't know if many places sell it outside Japan, but If you like manly scents, then it's for you.

It's a shame. My relation to the DE shaving world in Japan is almost non-existent, save for feather blades and grizzly old man scented aftershaves (MG5, Mandom and Kanebo Eroica)

I got my order in yesterday. Gave it a quick sniff tonight. Smelled great. It'll be a great compliment to the Sir Irisch Moos cream I have. I'm going to take this AS out for a test drive this weekend. Not sure how strong it will be and I don't want to offend anyone at work.

I think this and a higher grade omega boar brush will be the first things I order after The Gentlemanly restraint ends.

So I couldn't wait and took this AS out for a spin tonight. Even diluting 50/50 with wh, it's still pretty strong but I love the scent. Let's see what SWMBO says when she gets home from work :)

I just bought my first bottle......it took me back to being a kid, getting my hair cut at Charlies and him putting that on the back of my neck when it was over, very pleased with the scent.
