I'm a big fan of Provence Sante Green Tea, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Trumper's Rose, Harris Arlington, Speick, Irisch Moos, La Toja, Arko, Palmolive, eShave Mandarin, L'occitane Cade, I Coloniali, and Mama Bear's (Bergamot and Orange Orange EO soaps).
MWF is supposed to be one of the most moisturizing, so if that's your bag, it might be a good place to go next. I haven't tried it yet.
Let me also be the first to suggest trying Williams from the drugstore. It is dirt cheap, so don't expect much. However some of us happen to think one can extract pretty good lather from it and so if you're among those, it's a pretty cool little bargain. If not, you only risked $1.57.
I started out with cream also. Soaps just didn't lather well enough for me. The solution turned out to be a cheap boar brush instead of my softer badger. I have a few nice creams but they have been neglected for quite some time. I agree with the praise for MWF and Tabac - never have any bother getting a good lather with them and the aromas are nice and unobtrusive. TOBS Sandalwood is also very nice. I have grated two Palmolive sticks into a single puck which works well. I enjoy Williams too although you can't buy it in the UK.
Hell, even the Wilkinson Sword blue bowl £1.50 from the supermarket gives me a good lather although the aroma isn't anything to write home about.
