Lambda Athena

So far, I have not had a problem with any blade, I like how it works with all of them, but I like Nacet the least. To be completely accurate, I will say that in principle Nacet does not work well for me in any razor. I know that these are some of the most preferred blades, but here is another example that we are all different and for my specific beard (hard and thick) it does not perform well. Unlike Nacet, Perma-Sharp, just sings, works smoothly and without compromise, both in Athena and in any other razor.

I finally figured out why the Tithena is delayed. Thus is my deliver man.

Finally got my Athena yesterday and tried it out this morning. I’m not an expert, my main razor thus far has been a pre-war Canadian Tech. That said, the first shave was OK. I used roughly the same middle of the road angle I use with the Tech. Definitely not used to the blade feel yet. Also…heavy. Very heavy, and I’m not sure I like the large, smooth handle. A more grippy texture would be welcome. Will keep at it with some different blades every third day and see how it goes.

Mikey, I am not sure what blade you are using, but the sharper the better. As I have recommended before, a shallow to neutral angle will serve you best.

Hi, @MikeyTX, my first couple shaves with the Athena weren't as close as I expected. All it took was tuning in the right angle and now they are among the closest of any razor I have used. Experiment with several angles around neutral and you're sure to unlock a lot more efficiency. I didn't need a sharper blade, just the right angle.

By the way, are you using an ATG pass at all? I do use a lighter handle with the Athena head and that works well for me.

Happy shaves to you!

I shaved a fortune
I can't believe it. The Tithena has arrived in Missouri. We have a winter storm starting tonight through Monday. That means I will get the razor on Tuesday or Wednesday. Unless they mail it back to Greece for further processing:(
Congrats, Mark... or almost congrats, at least.... I'm still saving up for my Tithena... I have been able to move the purchase up a few months... The end of February instead of May.... I'm sure Theo will get one to me when I have the available funds.... I'm not in a rush, as I get along with the marine bronze Athena and the Ares very, Very well.
