What's new

La Faulx

I still wonder about the + and ++ base plates, but the Classic seems to do fine with my whiskers. As I've mentioned, I have used the Feather ProSuper ACs. The end result is about the same, truth be told, though the ProSupers might get me there just a bit more quickly. They are fairly smooth, but I still get more comfortable shaves with the Kai Titan "Mild" Pinks and the guarded Protouch blades.
I actually bought the Pro Supers for my Romulus. I figured I'd try in the La Faulx just to see how the shave went. This will be the only time otherwise it's just a Pro or ProGuard.

I shaved a fortune
I had another Stellar shave this morning with my La Faulx Classic.

Pre-shave Routine: Hotish shower, Cube 2.0 along with Stirling Oatmeal bar soap for the face X2, Cube 2.0 melted into a Captain's Choice Soap Locker applied with a Elite Razor Blood Basin Jasper handle, Rudy Vey installed 28mm ShaveMac Two-band Silvertip knot brush.

Shaving Soap: Baume.be (I forgot to get my TRC spoon in the photo... Sorry... It's a wonderful little addition if you need something to add to get free shipping.)

Shaving Bowl: CaYuen Copper Ore Large.

Shaving Brush: SV 2.0 Faux Turtle Shell with a gold crown.

Razors: Claymore Evolution around my nose; La Faulx Classic for the rest of the shave.

Blades: Kai Captain Titan "Mild" Pinks in each razor (unguarded) First Use in the La Faulx.... I get a dozen or more shaves with the Claymore Evo around my nose. I don't keep track, truth be told... I just change out the blade when I feel it tugging a bit.

Post-Shave Routine: LEA Alum "deodorant", Metro Gel prescription, Hyaluronic Acid, Neutrogena Hydro Boost night time.

It looks like you’re preparing for surgery there, with all the instruments laid out.

Could somebody please help me:
I just received my gorgeous copper La Faulx razor which, of course uses single edged Artist club blades.
I bought a box of Feathers, Feather Pros and Feather Guards.
I popped open the box of Feathers, and grabbed a shiny new blade.

As you can see, there is a little hole on one side of the blade.
The LaFaulx plate has two pins, and the side of the blade without a little hole will fit onto the plate.
I tried all three types, and they all look exactly the same.
Here is the plate!

Nobody else seems to have this problem. What am I missing here?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Are you asking how to load the blade? I don't have La Faulx yet, but from looking at the picture, you load it in front of the handle post where the two pins are. The two pins would go into the two end holes on the AC blade. You've also got the baseplate upside down, so I don't know what that side looks like.

The slots in the blade should just drop right onto the cap and the cap pins should line up with the blade slots and secure and orient the blade. Put the base plate on and screw on the handle.

@rcg also asked the question in the thread linked below and added a picture. Hoping my answer helped, but feel free to weigh in...
