I was 6 then, and my father tells me that although I was allowed to stay up and watch it on the neighbour's TV (not all German households had TV sets back then) I fell asleep at about 22:00. :-(

Apollo 11 blasted-off on the morning of my 6th birthday. That was the first rocket launch I ever saw, and I was hooked.
No memories of the moon landing, though. Mom says I dozed off-past my bedtime and all that.
