The Dovo is a very smooth and irritation-free shaver. It's very mild and easy to use. However, it's not very efficient, and not really efficient enough for me, even when going ATG. I like it because it's an autopilot razor that won't harm you, but I'm not sure I'm sold on it due to its lack of efficiency. It is more efficient than the Merkur 34C, which is nice.

Try playing with the angles and efficiency should improve. I require efficiency in a razor since I have to shave daily, don't do ATG and the Dovo delivers!

Them Dovo Primo razors look “Tedalus Velocity For the Rest of Us.”
You are correct!
The fit and finish on the Dovo is 5 stars!
They went all out when developing it. Head is Zamak but you can't tell. They created a finishing process for it where it's supposed to be super corrosion resistant. And the feel is softer & smoother than standard Zamak.
And shinier too!
It's also got a very long screw post and a brass insert in the handle. That's supposed to prevent water from entering and staying there.
No Merkur involvement in this one. It's a complete Dovo design and build!
It's a $50 razor that looks and shaves like it costs much more.
A very under the radar razor that's very very nice!

I must have bad luck, then. After my Timeless situation, I discovered my Dovo has two issues. The safety bar on one side doesn’t have a totally straight edge, which makes blade alignment a little tricky. There’s also a scratch on the head post above the threads. You can’t see it, so normally I wouldn’t care, but it’s an entry point for water than can corrode the zamak underneath.

Man, that stinks!
I've had two Primo's and both were immaculate. Hard to find something that's Made in Germany with defects!
But I guess it happens!

Welp, RAD strikes again. MerkurShave was having a 10% off sale this weekend and I had reward points on my credit card, so I purchased the new 34C for $29 out of pocket, which includes $6 for shipping. Can’t beat that at all. I wanted to get in front of the tariffs. It’s not the GOAT, but it’s a potential audition for which GOAT plate I get, if I ever get the GOAT.

Cool!
I look forward to reading about your experience with the new 34C!
