I'll add another Japanese razor to the thread. Tonight I used Gloria, a 6/8 Japanese razor with a short ~57mm cutting edge. I didn't know much about this razor brand - the presentation side of the tang has Gloria engraved in script with the opposite side showing an Eagle trademark with tiny Gloria script underneath. I found some information on this site, linking it to the Ribbon Razor Company. Anyway, it was a delightful shave with one of the closest first passes ever. Three passes resulted in BBS over 90% of my two-day growth, a couple of swipes with a DE brought it up to the 100% BBS I'm always chasing.

My honing effort on the New Azuma was pretty much a failure out of the gate. Plus, I neglected to mute the toe so I got a short, superficial slice to draw some blood for the end of Japanese Steel Week 2025. No styptic needed thankfully. Decided to finish up with the Kenwa which made for a lovely shave indeed. A satisfying recovery.

Your Gloria razor always catches my eye. My mom (who is no longer with us) was named Gloria. Not a very common name these days.
Me too. I don't remember seeing this razor before.
