I can see the slight blemishes in the middle of the video, but they seem worse at the end of the video. The video also seems to have a splice in it.

Thank goodness I saved the original video.

Here are some screenshots from the video. Uploading it to a video platform might compress the quality, making it harder to see. Anyone can come and help verify if this is the same razor!

Honestly, I don’t need to prove myself, but I also want to offer some explanations for friends who have reasonable doubts.

Yes, sir. I only noticed this issue after recording the unboxing video, so I later recorded an additional segment.

You can check my video screenshots—these flaws are so obvious, even in a fleeting moment… I must have been blind at the time.

Even if we take a step back and assume I intentionally exaggerated these flaws to deceive everyone, the real question is: should these flaws even exist in the first place? And why would I do this to a product that costs over $400?!

I believe you and saw the blemishes in the uploaded video.

I’m done proving myself—everyone can judge for themselves.

I just want to say, in the future, please remind the seller to check the product carefully before shipping!
I think everyone here believes you. Tone is hard to interpret in text, especially when speaking multiple languages.

Thank you all, and thank you too. I’m also communicating with you through a translation tool, so some of my expressions might not be very clear.

What I want to say is that the WR2 1.25 works great for me, but its surface finish isn’t worth the extra 100 CAD over the basic brushed version. That’s why I don’t want to go through the hassle—because I think it shaves really well.

If you like it, you can still choose Wolfman. Just remind them to avoid making this mistake again, or simply go for the basic brushed finish—maybe that way, a lot of issues can be avoided!

I shaved a fortune
Yaqi finishes look better.
And that's a shame.. If anything, Yaqi over polishes things a bit... RazoRock has some faint lines in the caps..... as they state, but they are consistent and actually look nice... They don't claim "basic polish" or flawless.... and they deliver an excellent product, esp for the prices we pay in the US.... the UK and EU? They pay a lot more for RazoRock razors.... As I'm sure you know....

Thank you, everyone. James has already emailed me and provided a solution. As I mentioned from the beginning, I will not return it, and I will accept it.

I hope this experience will encourage James to take every order seriously, as he mentioned, and I hope that in the future, everyone will receive a Wolfman razor they are 100% satisfied with!

Thanks to the friends on the BNB platform for offering me advice and support!

It's your call, but you are making a mistake. The vendor (James) has offered to make it right, take them up on it.

If nothing else, it future proofs you if you ever decide to sell it and you clearly are not happy/impressed with the finish or you wouldn't have started a thread on it.

Send it back.

I have another basic polished WR1 on the way, which is expected to arrive at the forwarding warehouse in about a week. It may take another half month to reach me from there.

This is why I dislike all the hassle—because we can’t ship directly to avoid the 20% customs fee, so we have to go through this process. Once I receive it, I’ll carefully inspect it and update here. You can look forward to it!

I would like to clarify again that I don’t need any resolution, because as I mentioned, I’m not a perfectionist and I don’t want to waste my time. As long as the razor works fine, that’s all that matters to me. I just want everyone to know the condition it was in when I received it. Anyone interested can invite professionals to analyze my video and screenshots to verify if what I said is true.

The reason I was so angry on the forum in the past two hours is because of Tara’s comment: “Please note this is basic polishing.” I feel that was incorrect.

It’s already 3:23 AM Beijing time, and I’ve stayed up late for this issue. I need to get some sleep now. Thanks again for all the advice and help.

Thanks again to BNB.

Thank you. While I can accept the situation, I realize I shouldn’t have discussed this issue here. However, accepting it doesn’t mean I didn’t notice the top cover had a processing issue. Since I was recommended the 1.25 gap by a friend, I immediately asked them, and when they said it wasn’t normal, I decided to post and inquire. It was only after the reminder from friends that I realized the base plate also had issues (you can check my previous posts).

I’m very grateful that James has provided a solution and shown a willingness to address the issue. I hope Tara will handle situations in the same way in the future. I also hope that everyone will have smooth resolutions for any issues in the future.

You’re too kind Sir.
Sorry—the perfectionist/OCD in me still can’t believe that a razor of this calibre and price point made it through quality control and was shipped out.
Even more surprising is how something like this could pass unnoticed by a company known for such outstanding craftsmanship. For a small, bespoke brand with a strong reputation, this kind of oversight could do real damage.

I’m not suggesting any wrongdoing on your part, and if they’ve offered you a full refund, or any form of remediation, I’d seriously consider taking it.
It gives them the chance to show goodwill and perhaps even go the extra mile (perhaps premium polishing) to make amends.

I know for me, personally, every time I’d pick up that razor to shave, the finishing flaws would be a constant reminder. It would just gnaw at me. Because you've posted about your disappointment, I suspect it will bother you if you don't doing anything as well.

In the end, it's not just about the product, it's the experience. And no one wants to feel disappointed every time they reach for something that's supposed to bring joy.

At this level, excellence should be the bare minimum. Here's hoping Wolfman steps up and prove they stand by their reputation.

As a long time customer of James Dufour I can tell you with certainty that this razor was a one-off mistake. It slipped through somehow. James would never jeopardize his reputation by knowingly sending out subpar work.

Your problem is not that you decided to discuss the issue here. It is how you handled it by purposely working to embarrass a well respected brand and it's owner. To hold up a single mistakenly released razor as an example of the craftsmanship of James Dufour was wrong and not of good character.

Your attitude and decision to make an example of Wolfman by exhibiting the flaws as if they are the norm to your friends was unprofessional and vindictive. You should have just sent it back for a credit. If your concerns had been rejected and an offer to replace/credit was not made the situation would have been different.

Posting the flaws here to ask us about it was fine, posting elsewhere to proclaim to the world and your friends that Wolfman quality is subpar was unnecessary and mean spirited.

Next time be gracious. It will be rewarded.

I highly recommend Lambda razors in Greece. Even better than Wolfman and just as beautifully made. And Theo would never, ever treat a customer like this.
Richard is absolutely correct in this matter. Lambda is wonderful to deal with. I had a slight scratch on the my SS Athena head, due to customs handling. Theo sent me a brand new head, no questions asked. If this is the new Wolfman standard, it is truly disappointing.
