There is no serial number or logo on this razor. I think this is an Old Type but can someone help me identify this razor?

I do not know what it is. I can tell you that the Old Type in my collection has a serial number (c.1920) and is stamped Gillette/Made in USA. The lower band on the handle has PAT. NOV 15, 04.There is always a chance that yours escaped from the factory without any stampings.

I would hazard a guess that it is a German Gillette Clone. I bought something like it many years ago and have never used it. They apparently shave reasonably well. Let us know how it goes if you try it out.

Although it is a German brand but I do not think it is a Rotbart, at least not the Old Type Rotbart that I own as shown below. It looks to have been excessively polished but even so if it were a Rotbart there should be some engraving visible on the handle and also on the top of the cap.

I was told... this is a German War time Razor.

How do yours compare with this one?
It may have been made in Germany during war time but as far as I know there was no razor issued by the government of Nazi Germany to its military during World War Two, despite the fact that I see many advertised for sale as being so. To my knowledge, German soldiers supplied their own razors which were the same commercial products available to civilians. Any razor produced in any country, during or prior to the period, could have been used by a Wehrmacht soldier, or indeed by any soldier.
