Is Mennen skin bracer discontinued?

Dirty Donuts are so Good.
I always thought the '7' in prices meant "sale" or "discount" but didn't know about the discontinuation coding in the price.
From what I've seen, Walmart still has it in abundance at regular prices. But I haven't seen it in Stop & Shop lately, which is odd. Usually they had it. Did not see it at CVS, either. Will have to check Walgreens the next time I go.
I really like the Walmart brand of organic peanut butter. I bought like 10 jars of it many months ago, because it had a 7 on the end of it’s pricing and there wasn’t much ever on the shelf because others also knew it was being discontinued and we’re buying it up.

I went thru those 10 jars in just a few months and when I went back to see if it was gone? It was gone. For about a month, but I found out they had just re-done or revamped the shape and look of the jar and label.

The jar is now plastic instead of the previous glass and is shaped differently with a new label, but at least I still have my cheap organic peanut butter. :)

Maybe Skin Bracer will do something like this? Either a formula change or different look or something? Instead of just discontinuing and going away.

I hope your possibly right. I’d really hate to see skin Bracer go away for good. It’s a American classic drug store aftershave.

I’m unaware of any dupe’s of it out there and don’t want to pay Artisan prices for less product either.

Next time I see it at a store. I’m going to stock up. Just to be safe.

Only have about 1/8th of a bottle left in the den.

Maybe they listened to their customers and are going back to glass bottles!

Oh My God Wow GIF

HaHa, I hurt myself laughing…can’t remember last time large company listened to customers, sigh.

Shave Chaser by PAA is one. I haven't used it though.

Recently seen in San Diego at Target, CVS, walmart and The NEX.

I’m sure, most large retailers who sell skin bracer have either some in back stock or will keep ordering it for their shelves until their distribution hubs run out. But if there is a number 7 on the end of it’s price tag?

It’s going the way of the dodo 🦤.

Walmart probably has a stock in its distribution warehouses that looks like where the Ark of the Covenant was stored at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Yep, it all depends on when their distribution centers get low. Every Walmart has a sale aisle where you find a whole aisle of marked down, discounted items. Once the distribution centers get down to just 1 or 2 pallets of the stuff, they will put something else in it’s place on the shaving aisle and move it to the discount aisle and mark it 50% off. Once you see it on that yellow tag discount aisle is when panic hoarding should start.

But grabbing a bottle here and there before that happens is smart & prudent. When Wilkinson Sword discontinued their Trac II Plus cartridges, I went to every Walmart in the OKC area and went straight to the discount aisle and picked up every 10 pack they had for .50 cents a pack. That was 12 years ago and I still use them to shave with now when my vintage Trac II hits the shave razor rotation or I’m traveling with it in the Dopp kit. :)

I called Clogate-Palmolive Canada using the phone number on the back of my Speed Stick and was automatically transferred to the American customer service. Connection was terrible but the lady said SkinBracer had not been discontinued. Still find it odd that Walmart and several other Canadian pharmacy chains seemed to have run out at the same time.

I also called my local Walmart and the lady said it will only be available online from Walmart.ca.

That's good news as I like the product. Logically, if that would be the case (low stock) then the label should still be on the empty shelf. There's no trace of Skin Bracer in any visited store. I will wait and see if it comes back.

Amazon, everyone. 6 x 7-oz bottles for ~$45. I’ll give it a few weeks whilst following this thread and, if needs be, I’ll order another six. My CVS still has it in stock, as does the Acme grocery store. I may buy more at either/both.

I can imagine a lot of misfortune to the wet shaving community; not having Skin Bracer is too painful to think about. I’ve been using it for some 45 years. I use only three aftershaves… Skin Bracer, Aqua Velva Ice Blue, and Old Spice.

Doesn’t the manufacturer sell the juice to generic brands too? I remember reading that somewhere. If that’s true, and P&G did discontinue SB, I wonder if it will continue to be available under a different name.

Skin Bracer is Colgate Palmolive, not Procter & Gamble
