Is it ok to use DE shaver in shower?

Been shaving in the shower for years my advice is to get a stainless steel razor and a mounted shower mirror

I don't use a DE--yet, but I do shave in the shower. I have a cheap Target mirror that suction cups to the tile wall. I didn't think it would work, but for $10 I gave it a shot. The thing is awesome.

I sometimes rub a bit of Fog-X on the mirror. I think that's the name of this stuff. Long out of business I imagine. Paste in a little white tub--I think it was made for eyeglasses. My dad had it for years and it's still 1/2 full. Anyway, I just spray the mirror with the handheld showerhead for 20-30 seconds and that defogs it for the entire shave. I keep my hands free to do my work.

Whatever works for you is fine, but I would recommend trying to keep your hands free with a mirror you don't have to hold.

Hello, I am new to the DE world and I am interesting in purchasing my first one to get a closer shave. I am looking to purchase an Alabastron but was wondering if any of you shave while showering? Its a time saver for me. I simply hold my mirror up and shave, would this be a bad idea for a DE shaver? Or should I just stick with my Fusion?

Welcome to B&B

I don't know why you would want to but, sure you can. The whole idea of DE wet shaving is to make your shave more enjoyable. If you are in a hurry and need to save time, why not use an electric on the drive to work?

If you have not already done so, stop into the Hall of Fame and tell everyone a little about yourself

Thanks a lot for the responses! I did my first 3 shaves and they feel smooth although I deeply regret buying the 1904. Its simply too short. I'm going to order the 23c.
I use Gillette pure and sensitive cream to shave. I tried my taylor of bond rose on my face and it burned the crap outta me.

Although the shaving is smooth, the 2 negative factors are time and vision. Using a DE shaver definitely takes longer to give me a shave than my Fusion. O well. I also definately need a mirror to shave properly or maybe I will get better with time?

Nonetheless I will continue to use the DE razor. Thanks for all the advice!

Don't drop it on a sensitive anatomical part.
