Hey Dude. I’m new here and to wet shaving in general too. I’m also on Long Island. And have fallen way down the rabbit hole of DE and straight razors. Not to mention way too many sets of soap and splash.
Welcome to B&B, Drew, all the way from Washington state. Definitely consider going the straight razor route versus a shavette for the reason already noted. Sure it’s a whole different rabbit hole, but you may find shaving nirvana with straights and a whole lot more enjoyment. At least I certainly have!
