If you had $35 to choose one shaving cream...

Trumpers is a really good quality cream but if money is an issue why don't you try the tube rather than a screw thread pot? (the lime smells really good and not too overpowering) alternatively have u tried proraso shaving cream tube or soap? although its cheap its really good quality too. Hope this helps

Never had a chance to try it, but based on all the reviews I've read, the one cream that gets repeated more than anything else and always comes out squeaky clean and at the top of the list?

CF Limes

I have just recently obtained a sample and yes, this is indeed a fantastic cream.

honestly, I am sure Taylor's avocado or Trumper's lime would do you well. But, try KMF shave cream in any flavor first....you may end up with the entire line. It is really an amazing product.

I'd go with my current favourite:

Nancy Boy Shave Cream (Signature Scent)
http://www.nancyboy.com/

I love the scent, and it lathers beautifully and has provided in some of my best shaves. For reference, the other creams I've tried are TOBS Avocado, Proraso, Body Shop Maca Root, EJ Sandalwood and Cella.

+1

I've tried a lot, and that's the one I'd pick. Although Trumper's Limes and their Coconut cream are pretty amazing, too.

I have two favorite creams:

AOS sandalwood and Santa Maria Novella. The SMN is more expensive than $35, but it will last forever. I really feel it's more of a soft soap than a cream.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything that's been suggested thus far.

AOS sandlewood and an arko stick (not cream)

Castle Forbes Lime. I love the lavender too, and if you ask me on a different day, my answer may change.

If you had $35 to choose one shaving cream...

I'd buy 17 Tubes of Godrej.

See, you beat me to it, but I was going to post more along the lines of "12 tubes of WARS."

Trumper's Coconut. I only tried the sampler and haven't gotten to the point where I want to lay out the cash for it, but this would be my choice. I'm enjoying the post-shave scent of the soap now!

...or the Limes!

Reminds me of the Carribean while delivering a great shave!

It'd be a toss-up between

  • one of the Castle Forbes creams
  • a couple of tubes of Musgo Real
  • Nancy Boy signature
  • a couple of tubs of Omega

The only regret I'd have in choosing one of these is that I wouldn't be able to have any of the others.

35 dollars...

That is at least 25 Palmolives!
All time classic.

But for that money:

... obviously 1 Prorarso
... and a Palmolive
... and a Sea Buckthorne
... and a Veleiro

Thank you all for your suggestions... I go away for two days and get back to two pages of new replies!! I love it!

Anyway, I think some of you misunderstood what I was saying. I'm not worried about the staying power of whichever cream I decide to try. I'm just worried about trying something that you "just have to try". I'm not looking to actually live the rest of my shaving life out on one product. I'm looking to supplement my existing collection with something that's less of something I need to get by and more of something that I would really enjoy. I guess I worded my original post poorly.

I think that on Amazon there's a seller "Shave and Fragrances Co" that is offering free shipping on orders over $30. I think I'm going to get their GFT Coconut oil shave cream and the TOBS Almond... Based on what you guys are saying I think that these are the most readily available and easy to obtain and I don't even have to go to the store. Also, they're slightly less than what I would pay in store (with the free shipping offer.) So... $34 with shipping for both, and some more fun shaving!

Many thanks to everyone, I love this board!

The same volume of soap will last you way longer than an equivalent of cream. $35 will get you at least 3 pucks of decent soap (or 4-5 shave sticks) at westcoastshaving, that'll be enough to last you 3 years right there.
I have to agree here. I would load up on Col. Conk soaps in the 3.75 ounce size.
