Seriously? MWF does unnaturally powerful moisturizing things to my face. Its slickness isn't the best (cushiony as all get-out, though), but man I LOVE how it leaves my face...all day, even.

Yup. Glad it works so well for you!

Other than MdC, my choice would be Blenheim Bouquet.

You gave me the option to vote on all, so I did the only decent thing, voted on all. You're looking for a 3rd soap, but for your own pleasure get the 4th, 5th, and 6th at the same time.

If you enjoyed VDH Deluxe, you should get on well with Honeybee Soap. My favorite is Mountain Meadow.

I recently rediscovered Honeybee. I've tried several (6 to be exact) of the fragrance oil soaps, and sold them off for one reason or another. It was never for a lack of performance. I got 4 essential oil soaps now and they're pretty stellar, including the scent. Honeybee may have taken the lead of the cottage industry soap makers again in my book (I've tried Honeybee, The Gentleman's Quarter, and QED).

When it comes to the hard milled soaps, Pre de Provence is one of my favorites. Tabac is also excellent but I have to be in the mood for the scent. I have a touch and go relationship with MWF, but I'm doing the month long soap marathon with MWF, so we'll see how that goes.

I also have a couple of Italian soft soaps (Valobra and Omega), but I haven't quite figured them out yet. They lather differently than my other soaps, so I need more time with them.

I find MWF, Olivia's shave creams (more like a soft soap) and HBS soaps to be the most moisturizing. I have to admit though that I haven't tried the high-end stuff like EF, BB or MdC.

The Tabac is an easy choice. It smells great, lathers great, and is simply one of the great pleasures of the wetshaving experience. On the other hand, it is a taollow based, triple-milled soap, and may be a little harder for you to lather than the glycerin soaps you have been using. But you'll get it in no time, so don't worry about that.

My other choice, not on your list, but a wonderful soap which is starting to get noticed around here is the L'Occitane CADE. It is a milled French soap, but contains no tallow. It has a fresh fragrance and produces a world class lather with little to no effort. The soap itself is an absolute bargain at $10 per puck, although the very cool aluminum bowl will set you back $28 at retail (I understand that there are deals available on Amazon, but I paid retail in the mall).

Good luck and enjoy your shaves!

thanks, looks like I might get a tabac for 2 reasons.

While I voted MWF, I go back and forth between that and Tabac all the time. MWF does seem to moisturize my face a bit better, hence my nod toward it, but Tabac might be the perfect soap for me. Tabac is probably the "unofficial soap of B&B" (not my original quote, btw), and getting it for free using an Amazon GC makes it a slam dunk. Although I'm sure it's happened, I can't recall a single poster not liking Tabac for any reason other than its scent, which does seem to be "love it or leave it".
