Any idea what this eBay beater could be?

The maker's mark is mostly illegible, but it looks like:
[Something] Cutlery Co
Chicago

Anything on the back of the tang? Very likely a standard make of razor stamped for a cutlery shop in Chicago. Could be American, German, or English steel.

Looks like the stamp wasn't very deep to start with.
