What's new

I lost my status as a person who has not shaved with a straight razor.

Lots of folks think one should learn to use both hands, alternatively when shaving with a straight. I pretty much stick with one hand and sometimes my view, particularly where you are talking about, is blocked. I pretty much just shave a bit blind in that spot, but I am lazy. Has not seemed like a huge problem. Just a little annoying.

I nicked myself while trying to land the blade up there in the beginning too! I would suggest starting with the spine closer to your face than you think you should up there. Eventually you'll build up confidence, and you won't cut yourself with a steep angle. As you go on with starts in the fifth, sixth, etc.th shave, you'll get better with landing and get a feel for the angle to start with. BTW, I shave with one hand because I could never build up that off-hand confidence! :)
