November 27, 2024 Wednesday shave

Razor: Henson AL13+++
Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
Soap: Proraso green
Brush: AP Shave Co. 24mm G5C
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Aftershave: Fine Snake Bite

I had the Overlander ready to go last night, but decided to use a Henson +++ instead. Got a very good shave, with very little buffing required. The Henson +++ is a bit more efficient than the Overlander, so the shave was a little easier and quicker. The new brush still has the square knot profile, after three shaves it hasn't relaxed into a round shape.
This was a three pass shave of 48 hours growth. It was easy and the results were terrific. 10/10

How do you like the Pacific Shaving Co products? I’ve looked at them in the past, but never pulled the trigger.
I think that are worth a try. The after shave is one of the best as fas as calming irritation. I used them more when I was still learning. On Amazon you can find the shaving cream and the after shave sold together (Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Shaving-Company-Caffeinated-Pieces/dp/B00JF7FES2/).
Their Nick Stick is excellent as well, that one I really recommend it.

Good morning!

November 29, 2024 Friday shave

Razor: Henson AL13 +++
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush: AP Shave Co. 24mm G5C
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

Using the Henson +++, this three pass shave produced a great result. Had one weeper that disappeared on its own.
The +++ is more efficient than the Karve Overlander, but is a little bit harder on the skin. But, it gives a very close shave!
Still trying to get the AP Shave Co./The Razor Company brush to lose its square knot profile.
Happy Weekend, everyone!

Think I almost reached shaving nirvana today, thought I would take my time and have a play so began the ritual with prorasso pre-shave, a dab of reuzel cream as a primer, then prorasso green soap on the king hog brush.

First pass with +++ and a gilette 7 o'clock (WTG in my "easy zones", cheeks and chin and a very light pass elsewhere), second pass with ++ and a feather (WTG on neck and difficult areas then XTG all over) finally third pass with + and a feather (ATG on neck and all over with a bonus pass on chin and cheeks).

Spritzed with thayers and rubbed in with prorasso white balm, finished with a green splash and I am BBS with no irritation, just a tiny weeper on the usual chin crease on the first pass that cleared up by the time I finished.
